Nader Says His Independent Run Helps Kerry Campaign
WASHINGTON -- Ralph Nader pledged Monday to run both with and against the Democrats by using a strategy he claimed is collaborative, though he acknowledged it was counterintuitive.

The independent candidate described his plan during a wide-ranging breakfast discussion with newspaper reporters. Even as he repeatedly criticized Kerry's campaign, Nader said an element of his controversial run is to help protect Kerry from President Bush.

"One is to show how moderate Kerry is, as opposed to the strategy of Bush to paint Kerry as an extreme liberal," Nader said.

He said he plans to stump on liberal issues too controversial for Democratic candidates worried about seeming unpatriotic in a time of war. As an example, Nader released his plan for Iraq, which calls for all American troops, military contractors and corporate interests to leave the country once independent elections are held. He said they should be replaced by U.N.-led peacekeepers from neutral and Islamic countries and by U.S. humanitarian aid.

2. Ralphie-boy, if you really mean to help Kerry. . .
kindly tell your supporters to hold their noses and vote for Kerry, even if they don't agree with him on every issue.

Otherwise, Ralph, shut the f**k up and get out of the way.

You can't help another candidate by encouraging people not to vote for him. I have lost all respect for him.

13. Nader is lying just like he did repeatedly in 2K--and that's according to
his biggest supporters such as Moore, et. al.

Thanks for posting this, Cat Woman. It's always great to keep Dems reminded of Nader's outrages. Helps with turnout, big time. Please keep it up.

14. yeah exactly
And the Greens have a candidate too. Important to make Kerry illustrate for us how he is better. Otherwise, republicans may as well run in the democratic party. Kerry, voting for the war in Iraq, somehow has to explain how he bought the same bogus crap the President passed on to us in the State of the Union.

Time to think out of the box to get us out of the republicrat dilemna. If there are no other candidates who will challenge Bush in the Debates about Iraq? Will we just passively vote for Kerry because of his label or will we fight for the principles of the democratic party?

15. Nader vs. Kerry
Character assasinations are worthless. Nader is trying to help the people not Kerry. He is the one of the people pointing out that Kerry is pro Iraq war. So, if you are really "in love" with Kerry let him debate Nader issue by issue. Kerry's debate with Bush will be trouble when he has to admit that he supported GW and the invasion.

I hate when people "support" Kerry the person over Kerry the principles.

17. Nader says
Although he know's he is not viable, don't ever tell someone not to speak. This election is the rare chance progressives get a voice in the media. He is expressing free speech and is a martyr. he is bringing up the issues we all worry about, the more perspectives, the better and maybe Kerry will understand that we are not giving him our vote for any other reason but we are stuck in a place as Arhundhati Roy states, where no one says anything that isn't sellable. And the war has been sold to us through deceit. I say, let him speak. Challenge his thoughts, not his character and ask your self, isn't he just saying what we would say- no war, living wage, no NAFTA, no Nuc's, sustainable economy. Oh yeah, and end the ridiculous war on the thousands of US pot smokers. Boy, I don't smoke now, but marijuana is a medicine for mind pain and if you look at the babies with their blown out heads in Fallujah, you almost need a joint.

Let Nader speak and the Green candidate, not just the two Yalies, scull and cross boners.

19. Right, lets split the anti-Bush vote as many ways as possible
and see to it that Nader and the Greens get plenty of publicity so they can bury Kerry and elect Bush. Nader is a publicity junkie and if he gave a damn about his "issues" he never would have entered this year. He knows how important beating Bush is and he knows it will take unity. He just doesn't care. I hope he doesn't make it on a single state ballot.

He's shat all over his career achievements. The net sum of his entire career is now minus zero-negative to the extreme.

Go crawl in a hole, Ralph, and bury yourself. Your whining and self-justification grow old.
