Anyone watch Lou Dobbs last night

He was pretty strong against Congressman David Dreier(R) against outsourcing....or as the congressman would rather call it - "global investment".

DOBBS: Wait a minute. I wrote these words down. These are the words you used, Congressman. Ingenuity, productivity, competitiveness and innovation and now you're talking about cost effectiveness. You're talking about exporting the middle class jobs in this country to a cheap foreign labor market on the pure basis, not because they're more innovative or productive or competitive but because they're cheaper. You're putting American workers in a competition against the lowest wages in the world. Do you really believe that's fair?


He was, as I said, very strong against Dreier.

1. Yes, I watched, and Lou is GOOD!

He is the only TV host that I know of who has really been fighting this outsourcing for US!

I watch him every night, and even got my son, who never pays any attention to this kind of stuff, to pay attention.

5. I Have Been Unemployed For Four Years And Am Sure That Outsourcing

is partially limiting my ability to find work. Anytime you lose jobs that are not replaced with equivalent jobs people lose.

Secondly, all of the outsourcing arguments fail to realize the time aspect to this problem. Capital can move almost instantaneously to another country yet people take years to retrain. This hardly seems like a fair equation.

He was getting ready to trap Dreier with his own words, you could tell by the look on Dreier's face he knew what was coming. My favorite part? When Drier said that the American worker is the best worker in the world. And Lou said, Oh really? Then why are all the jobs being outsourced? And Dreier said something like people in India make better telephone calls. I laughed and laughed.

Anyone who doesn't watch Lou Dobbs at 6 p.m. on CNN is totally missing out. I watch it whenever he's on and entertain conspiracy theories when he isn't.
