I've heard Kerry say
he'll go to the UN...build that coalition that should have been built before the war, internationalize the war effort....
What country's leader, in their right mind, would want to commit troops to Iraq now?
I'm guessin' the countries not in this mess, are pretty damn glad they're not.
Asking them "please" with a smile on your face isn't going to change anything.

1. i think you're wrong on that
NATO will help and a percentage of the oil and reconstruction will change some minds. The EU knows the world can't afford a failed state of Iraq

3. I think we have 11 of 17 nato countries
in Iraq now. Which ones that aren't there are going to send troops.
Most of the NATO countries there now won't risk more the a couple of hundred personel.....I just don't see that change happening.

2. well...
Don't underestimate the power of the "thirst" for oil. If Kerry promises key countries a piece of the pie (France, Russia, Germany, etc...) you don't think they'd pass that up?

4. Countries that supply troops will get contracts...
For Bush, we called it bribery.

For Kerry, we call it "internationalizing."

To the troop suppliers go the spoils.

5. I think the UN is sitting on its hands for now
....just waiting for the arrogant and incompetent Bush gang to be out of power. I doubt Bush will ever gain the support of the UN, nor should he. He's done every stupid thing short of withdrawing the US completely, and I think we all know that would be his next step should he cheat his way back in.

I think if we elected my cat, my cat would get UN support very quickly, simply because HE IS NOT BUSH.

To underestimate just how much Bush is hated throughout the world is a big mistake. He is despised everywhere but here, where most people are held captive to a lying corporate press that would praise his tender care for children were he caught buggering a two year old.
