Honduran Troops to Quit Iraq as Soon as Possible

TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras (Reuters) - Honduras will withdraw its 370 troops from Iraq (news - web sites) "in the shortest possible time," President Ricardo Maduro said on Monday.



"I have told the coalition countries that the troops are going to return from Iraq," Maduro said in a speech on national television and radio.


"I have ordered... the carrying out of the decision taken in the shortest possible time and under safe conditions for our troops."

3. I wonder if Negroponte's appointment as next 'ambassador' to Iraq
has anything to do with Honduran withdrawl? Didn't Negroponte do a little contracting in Honduras at one time?
