What does "CIC" mean?
I was debating this Tuckyboy Carlson wannabe on another site, and he won't explain what CIC stands for.

In context..."If Hillary runs for CIC, will she be able to beat Bush?"

Now, my theory is that since it's Hillary, and a female at that, it's probably...

C...(Rhymes with runt) In Charge. Is it something else?

The freepers are half in love with the idea of having a military dictator so it's their preferred term for president :eyes:

6. Freeps think that since they read Clancy, they're all military experts...
...so they use all military acronyms/jargon to impress their cohorts.

9. Wasn't it a Clancy novel that envisioned jets being flown into buildings?
No freep has yet admitted Condi's "traditional hijacking" story was pure b.s..

14. Yes, "Debt of Honor"
Which ended with a Japanese Airlines pilot named Sato driving a 747 into the Capitol during a presidential address to a joint session of Congress.

Condi forgot something, though: in Clancy's book when the fire died down, the tail section of the 747 was sticking out of the building...contrast this to the hit on the Pentagon, where the plane was completely consumed by fire.

16. Here is what I think is a pretty sick detail about this.
Edited on Tue Aug-05-03 07:16 PM by TacticalPeak
Several months back, the chimp (or his masters) ordered that throughout the military, the term CINC be reserved for aWol only. This despite over 60 years of military tradition that called commanders of large commands the commander-in-chief. This is because this general or admiral was the commander of other generals/admirals who had their own commands, thus he was the commander of other commanders, hence, commander-in-chief. Eminently reasonable. Admiral Nimitz, for example was CINC, Pacific Fleet during WWII.

Dumb aWol is so unsure of his manliness and potence that he ordered that no one else in the realm shall be called commander-in-chief. Or else it was too confusing for him to hear and read references to any other commander-in-chief ("Unka Dick, I thought you said I get to be commander-in-chief?").

Stupid twit. Wesley Clark will straighten this out.

Incidently, dunno where your Tuckyboy gets his CIC. I've only heard and seen it refer to Combat Information Center, as Pepperbelly notes above. Even as recently as CNN's current war specials, like last night's which was mostly in the CIC in theater, you still could hear guys talking CINC every now and then. It will take time for them to censor a word they have used all their military life. My guess is Tuckyboy is a Rambo-wanna-be who picked up sloppy terminology from his sissy freeper pals. Got something for him and them, too:
