Who's with me on this?
I have been watching the news a lot as of late, and I have noticed that the cracks are beginning to widen. More soldiers are being killed in Iraq, Karl Rove has publicly admitted that the "Mission Accomplished" banner was a mistake, and * is definitely losing support across the board. I don't know about you, but I think the shit is finally hitting the fan.

Who agrees with me?

5. Good point
Since he obviously likes to shovel shit so much, we'll have it point into Ken Starr's sitting room.

...is using George's MISTAKES as fodder. I just hope all this stuff isn't peaking too early. November is a long way off.

23. The more comedy the better, one of the best human traits.....

emotion is often used when people come to wits end about logical things to do. I think a life without the great work Humor does in putting things in perspective might even be untenable (much like *). It disarms haughty people and without it the world a much more scary place :scared:

One thing you will notice about people who have totally lost rational thought is humor often makes them much more angry. It also lets other people see what these irrationally angry people that wish to harm others are really all about.

7. It's because of Bush losing popular support
When the Prez has a 75% approval rating, more people will buy papers and watch news that confirms their attitude.

The chimp's approval rating is teetering the 50% mark, so the media coverage is following the trend. They'll sell more ads this way.

16. Um How big? (Gen Franks - WMD attack = military rule)
http://www.vallejonews.com/articles/index.cfm?artoid=145212

Franks, the former commander of the military's Central Command warned that if terrorists successfully used a weapons of mass destruction in the U.S. or anywhere else in the "Western world", it would have grave consequences for our republican form of government.

If such an event were to happen, Franks stated, "...the Western world, the free world, loses what it cherishes most, and that is freedom and liberty we've seen for a couple of hundred years in this grand experiment that we call democracy."

Franks continues and says,"It means that the potential of a weapon of mass destruction and a terrorist, massive, casualty-producing event somewhere in the Western world - it may be in the United States of America - that causes our population to question our own Constitution and begin to militarize our country in order to avoid a repeat of another mass, casualty-producing event. Which in fact then begins to unravel the fabric of our Constitution."

11. I can't tell if my pessimism is just a defense mechanism....
How do I feel? Well, I feel like we are going to be in for a huge disappointment. If I had a dollar for every time someone has posted that x thing would be the downfall of the administration, I'd be a millionaire. So I am understandably reserved.

However, I honestly don't know if my pessimism is just a way for me to cope - a kind of "if you don't get your hopes up you can't be disappointed thing." I'm not sure.

sloppy. They are going down.

Start thinking about how great things will be with a Democrat in the White House, it definitely motivates me to do some work.

15. Understood
It's hard to do, what with an administration that somehow pulls things out of its collective ass to pull it out of the basement in the polls. My father is a lot like you, Selwynn...but he's warming up to the fact that the tower of lies is finally coming down.

You're right, I don't think that any one thing can be the downfall of this administration--their smear machine is too quick for that. But a combination of circumstances such as this may just be able to do it:

-Condi being caught in several lies in her testimony, one in particular being the Aug 6 PDB
-Shrub having to use the "not-under-oath" and Dick Cheney to be able to testify and be coherent
-Richard Clarke's allegations
-Soldiers being killed in increased numbers in Iraq (and you can also look at the fact that since Bush's "Top Gun" moment, more soldiers have been killed than before it)
-Waning poll numbers, both for his Iraq handling and his voter base
-Karl Rove publicly admitting that the "Mission Accomplished" banner was a mistake

I think we might have them this time, but I think you have a point: they do pull things out of their asses very effectively.

14. I think the shit's BEEN hitting the fan
and I do believe in the critical mass theory.

I hear of more and more people defecting away from the chimp all the time.

See, here's the thing: I know of a LOT of people who voted for * in 2000 and aren't voting for him this year (they are either abstaining or going Kerry, I don't know a single person who has said they are voting Nader...).

I know people who voted third party in 2000 who are going Dem all the way in 2004.

And I know people who voted for Gore in 2000 and are going for Kerry this year.

But I don't know a single SOUL who DIDN'T vote for * in 2000 who IS voting for him this year.

I'm sure they're out there, but in such small numbers that I can't find ONE.

I post on another board where we got invaded by a few freepers, you know what's funny? They have just disappeared.......gotten VERY VERY quiet. That happens every time their guy is in hot water. And lately they've stayed gone.

17. I am somewhat pessimistic
I am only 18, so I have never seen this country correct itself after a political crisis, and going by the polls, it seems like * has fallen as far as he will go before the mediawhores and Diebold intervene.

Could someone please reassure me?:scared::scared::scared:

And then there's that draft to worry about...thank God for my cruddy vision.

19. don't be apathetic....
or the bastards have already won.

Try engaging people in conversation. Don't attack, just talk and express your opinions openly, even if the other person starts dittotalking. The more you do this, the more people you will get to vote. Getting people to vote is the key to getting rid of shrub cause Diebold can't control ALL the votes.

20. I am not apathetic. There is a difference.
I have donated to Kerry, will vote for him, and am doing everything I can to publicize *'s draft plans; I have even converted a couple of freepers. I am already following your advice.

I am doing everything I can to take my country back...I'm just concerned that it will be too little, too late.
