This may not be a Jessica Lynch Story
Video of captured U.S. soldier displaying real courage:

http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/D45F6A81-D357-4BF6-97D7-2F7C517B0007.htm

Private Lynch was lucky enough to fall into the hands of Iraqis who showed her some kindness. What will this young mans fate be?

1. Yes. I'm sure her rape at the hands of her captors
Edited on Fri Apr-16-04 05:29 PM by WildClarySage
was real lucky.

I'm sorry, but I don't like comparisons of people's pain. What happened to JL happened, and this is something else, and whatever the *maladministration and fox news decided to do, she didn't ask for it and didn't deserve it either. No one deserves war, torture or pain. One person's pain is as real as anothers.

ed to add that my thoughts and positive energies are with this soldier and his family, as with all those serving this unholy war.

6. Our local paper doesn't archive past 7 days, but
from USA Today "On Thursday, Lynch won admiration in her hometown for having the courage to reveal she was raped by her Iraqi captors."

I'm not good at links but http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2003-11-07-lynch-laments_x.htm

should get you there.

12. This whole story has been thoroughly debunked
I saw Ms. Lynch on tv telling her on story.

It was: Lights, Camera, Action

3. According to her own statement she has no memory of being raped
Her wounds were treated and she was given a private room at the hospital where she was treated.

4. What Rape
Do you have information that even PFC Lynch did not seem to have, were you there, watching as it was done, and this is how you know she was raped.

Did she claim that she was raped by her captors. The doctors that treated her even said that no sexual assault took place, but then again they were just Iraqi medical personnel, no better then any other Iraqi.

It was this adminisration along with all of the media puppets that raped PFC Lynch, but she had the courage to come out and correct the lies that were being told.

And as for her book, she didn't write it, it was an author who shall we say, wasn't known for his integrity!!!

14. I believe the book writing or sponsor
I don't recall exactly but for sure a bitch- I don't remember her name - who sponsored the testomony in 91 against sadam of a 17 year old daugther of koweit ambassador at the time - in her testimony she said that babies in koweit were taken of the nursery and trown on the floor and it turned out later that it was all lies for the fact that this girl was not in koweit at the time of the invasion but in the US

7. actually,
since I live in WV near there, and former office mate is her next-door neighbor, I'm pretty familiar with the story, but thanks for the sympathy.

10. I don't care where you live.
You know better just because you live in the same state? Put your head back in your bag and breath deeply.

I'll reserve my sympathy for Americans and Iraqis who are dying needlessly.

11. ? Vicious. Wow.
Hmm, no, not because I live in the same state (county, actually) I was basing that on what my friend, who is her next-door neighbor, reported to me based on conversations with family. Which, on reflection, were probably intended to be confidential. So just never mind.

I have plenty of sympathy for the americans and iraqis who are dying, trust me on that. I just don't like when someone compares one person's pain with another. It's all a horrible mess that dipshit * got them into, they all have my sympathy.

15. I thought Jessica Lynch was very courgeous
She told the truth about what happened to her. I'm sure there were many who pressured her to go along with the script they had prepared for her.

Sorry about the bag remark.

13. The 'rape' is a total fabrication, her broken arm and femur......
Edited on Fri Apr-16-04 06:24 PM by ParanoidPat
.....would have caused her to bleed to death in the time it took for someone to have done it. If you don't believe it, click on this Google search for 'Jessica Lynch, broken femur'.

I suspect you're suffering from a 'Kool Aid' overdose!

On Edit: Added this excerpt from a Counterpunch Article By Stan Goff, Dec 13/14 2003.

<Snip>

Jessica Lynch saw Pietsewa and the others vaguely, unable to assess their conditions or her own. She managed to get off the Humvee where she fell to her knees and began praying, then for Jessica Lynch the day was over. The concussion from a gaping head wound sustained from the crash caused her to lose consciousness. There is a contradiction here yet unresolved, a story that her rifle jammed, which would mean she attempted to put it into action... but in this series of presumptions, I am presuming from the severity of her injuries that she was in shock and it was unlikely she attempted to operate an assault rifle. It happens in the movies, but this was no movie. Her ankle was dislocated. Her femur was fractured and releasing blood in to the muscle of her thigh. Her arm was broken, and she had a large, copiously bleeding laceration on her head. Pietsewa, her best friend, and a woman of the Hopi Nation, was already in deep shock.

Part of the convoy, with Marine assistance, escaped.

Once the attack was over, the Iraqi troops took Lynch and Pietsewa to the Nasiriyah military hospital. Had they not, she would have bled to death. Pietsewa died of her injuries.

Dr. Jamal Kadhim Shwail and Dr Harith al-Houssona examined her. She was in shock with precariously low blood pressure. Not knowing the extent of the musculoskeletal injuries or whether there was spinal damage, they could not afford to jostle her to remove the layers of combat gear, uniform, body armor, and web gear. They had to use bandage scissors to cut away the equipment and clothing, which was still fully secured on her body. She was infused with fluids, including three units of whole blood--two donated on the spot by Iraqi hospital staff--catheterized, splinted, her head sutured, and transported to Saddam hospital, also in Nasiriyah, for surgery on her dangerously fractured femur.

Dr. Mahdi Khafazi performed the surgery.
