A mother's angst

I read this on another board and thought some might like to see it as well as pray as this mother asks.

My dear friends, Tuesday Edmund called (after 18 days of silence) to tell me that he was not coming back to Germany this month. He was so disappointed especially since they had packed their belongings and had the trucks lined up with their feet on the gas pedal ready to go. The ships had left Kuwait with the division's supplies and to make a U-turn and return to port to trek everything back to the 18,000 soldiers.

Could someone tell me what we are doing there?

So I ask your continued prayers for my son as he continues to "protect us from terrorism". He will be there at least thru the summer where the temperature is a cool 130. Hope they crank up the AC this year. I thank you for your past support and ask you to continue to send Edmund energy thru your prayers. He will have much to tell us when he gets home. xoxoxo--Edmund's Mom

what torture these families must be going through.

These soldiers relly are slaves. At least in Vietnam they knew, to the day, when they would be coming home, if they survived. Of course, in those days they had a constant supply of fresh bodies due to the draft. Feel a chill, anyone?
