I'd heard allusions to Blair's religiosity before, but never heard someone say he was born again. Is that true? Does that explain this bizarre alliance?

In his youth, Blair was torn between joining the priesthood (Anglican, I assume) and pursuing a career in rock music. He compromised by choosing politics, or something like that.

He's an Anglican, but his wife Cherie is a devout Catholic (politically more progressive than he), and he attends Catholic services with her and their four kids.
