Helen Thomas just said Tony Blair was born again
I'd heard allusions to Blair's religiosity before, but never heard someone say he was born again. Is that true? Does that explain this bizarre alliance?

13. yes, it finally makes sense
...why Blair would buy into the Bush insanity and commit what will eventually be political suicide to follow the course of action which will eventually result in the next world war.

They really think they'll be raptured out of the horror they create.

2. It's true
He managed to keep it quiet until recently. In Europe, that's not an asset for a politician running for high office, as opposed to here!

In his youth, Blair was torn between joining the priesthood (Anglican, I assume) and pursuing a career in rock music. He compromised by choosing politics, or something like that.

3. Damn, you think he believes BUSH hears god???
OMG... that really could be the primary reason Blair is following bush to iraq, and then to hell no doubt.

Does anybody know just exactly when bushit was born again? Was it just before he ran for governor of Texas?

That way Blair isn't the only one on his knees when the two are alone together.

11. He's a Christian
But that's not synonymous with US-style "born-again-ism," of course. He's often described as having come out of the 19th-century British "Christian socialist" tradition.

12. Tony did hang out with the seminarians at Oxford --
as well as play in a rock band -- but these people were not fundies. I think he does have a strong moral sense, which has been misguidedly directed in his support of the Iraq war. He's an Anglican, but his wife Cherie is a devout Catholic (politically more progressive than he), and he attends Catholic services with her and their four kids.

14. Cherie Blair is New Age as is Putin's wife. Tony & Cherie got together
with a Mayan priest in Mexico during the summer of 2001, they took part in ancient rituals aimed at "world peace" in the caves and mud there with a priest of a different sort.

15. Timing is the key - you say summer of 2001
Well, it's possible 9/11 left him traumatized. Traumatized people often go to extremes for a sense of security.

in all humility, I've got an old link to that somewhere, doubt that it would work.

Btw, remember the big "fire" at the UK's state of the art Antarctic Rothera Research Laboratory reported 9-28-01, I've always associated that with the anthrax attacks and the dead micro-biologists, somehow-very spooky indeed.

LIHOP=Jerome Hauer and Tommy Thompson ordering staff and WH to take Cipro before the anthrax attacks but right after 9/11, and Hauer was hired by Thompson on 9-10-2001.

I can't dismiss that there were strange goings on down at that UK Rothera lab near the South Pole in 2001, too. But that's just me!

Tony Blair is a liar, like George W. Bush aka The War President.

18. A Rumor from Last Year Was That Cherie/Catholic
was thisclose to getting Tony to convert, to Catholicism that is, and he has made a visit or more to the Pope. This didn't stop him from defying the Pope's condemnation of the illegal Iraq attack.

16. He is
Tony has gone through a New Age-style rebirthing ceremony where they wrap you up in a bunch of blankets and with several people on either side of you, squeeze you out of the blankets like toothpaste.

I kid you not.

He is a 're-born' Christian, but not a "Born-Again Christian".

That is something that is becoming less common everyday in Britain. I don't think he is an Evangelical though.

21. I don't think he's a born-again in the Evangelical sense.
That would be a secret you couldn't hide in famously secular Britain. He's a jerk, but I don't think he's some mad fundamentalist.

24. born again as what?...a poodle?
I am so sick of this born again crap. instead of born again, try being christian, you know, love-thy-neighbor christian... house-the-homeless christian (thank you Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter)... feed-the-hungry christian... let-those-among-you-that-has-not-sinned christian... my-brother's-keeper christian, etc.

Instead of having to be born again, try making a difference in this life, in this reality.
