Bush "has the moral development of a 13-year-old boy."
Bush morally stunted, accuses Singer

President George Bush wants to be seen as a good Christian leader but, according to a new book by Australian professor Peter Singer, he actually has the moral development of a 13-year-old boy.

1. That's great
"But I do think he's a moral failure in his own terms, and in any terms."-- Awesome line

8. It is more like a six year old

The writer was being kind.
I have seen hundreds of six year olds that have more moral fiber than Bush.

He has no sense of right and wrong. His right is always right to him.
His wrong is always wrong to him. There is no Grey.

Six year olds think like this:

Mom: Did you hit Johnny?

Child: Yes, I hit Johnny

Mom: Why did you do that?

Child: Because he took my toy and he was mean to me!

Mom: Let's talk this over, let me tell you something about Johnny .... Johnny is very nice, he does not like to be hit because etc. etc.

SIX YEAR OLD: Really?

Mom: Yes, now let's talk about ways that you can get along with Johnny so that it will make it better for you and better for Johnny.

Six Year Old: O.K.

My point is that a six year old can understand his mistakes if you provide new information that is reality based.

George Bush does not have this ability, therefore I rate him at 5 years old and that is a stretch.

9. At age 11 my younger brother had the maturity to agree not to fight
With me ever again. I was 15 at the time.

That was about 31 years ago. We haven't had even the slightest conflict since then.

3. Oh boy Singer...
... he's fringe. My English 102 class used his appeal for world hunger essay. And wow! did my class get P.O'd about it. I just chuckled and quietly commented that our culture doesn't take criticism kindly.

And the 'pugs say we are thinned skinned? HAHAHAHAHA

4. Singer isn't much better himself
I wonder how philosphical he will feel when his children decide to off him.

5. Peter Singer is generous, considering Bush*s intellect
moron

\Mo"ron\, n. (Pedagogy) A person whose intellectual development proceeds normally up to about the eighth year of age and is then arrested so that there is little or no further development.

7. That's insulting to 13 year old boys.
As a thirteen year old boy in 1969 I:

read the biography of Mahatma Gandhi
attended protests against the Vietnam war
firmly believed in civil and equal rights
tried vegetarianism, but failed miserably

We lived in a working class neighborhood in Houston, and were not particularly unusual. I'm sure there are millions of kids now who are at least as morally developed as I was at that time.

Bush's moral development might be more fairly compared to that of Jeffery Dahmer. They both tortured animals as teenagers.

10. I disagree...
I think most 13 year olds know the difference between right and wrong...little Georgie does not! Most 13 year olds have moral compasses...little Georgie does not! Most 13 year olds can speak coherently...little Georgie cannot! Most 13 year olds are somewhat inquisitive...little Georgie is not! Most 13 year olds have read something other than Curious George...little Georgie has not!

11. You're right Sandra.....
.....if Dubya has similarities to anything 13 years old, it's a 'brick' or a 'tree stump'.

But that would be demeaning to clay and wood.
