Why isn't Bush demanding an investigation into forged documents?
Edited on Wed Jul-09-03 02:30 PM by blm
Isn't that what Presidents normally do when they have been given bad information?

7. What they DON'T do is as damning as what they do.
For example: What didn't Junior do when 'informed' of the 9/11 attacks?

9. Yet ANOTHER question not asked.
Honestly.
It's called Journalism 101.

Oh yes, Mr. pResident? You were mislead?
Can I assume you'll be tracking down the people who misled you and the American people?

Why doesn't anyone use their head in reporting anymore?

12. didn't he call for investigations of leaks?
I don't remember exactly, it might have been some of the revelations from the congressional inquiry of Sept. 11 that got into the press.

He wanted the FBI to investigate which congressman was leaking to the press. Not sure what became of it.

11. soooooo many questions that will go unanswered
1. How did WH obtain the documents?

2. Where/from whom did the documents originate? Who forged them and more importantly WHY?

3. Why wasn't our "experts" able to spot them as a forgery when it took the UN experts less than an hour to determine that they were forgeries?

4. Why did the WH wait till July to admit they were forgeries when (by their own admission) they knew of the forgery in February?

5. What was the "vetting" process for determining validity of documents/intelligence reports?

14. No. It's like this . . .
Bush told an accomplice, "I need something on which to base our justification for attacking Iraq." (wink, wink)

The accomplice produces the requested documents but doesn't tell Bush they are forged. He just delivers the requested goods.

When pressed to the wall, Bush can say, "I didn't know they were forged." (Remember Ronald Reagan--the great teacher of skills in lying to Congress.)

The accomplice takes the fall in return for an under-the-table golden parachute.

Damage control complete.

15. I don't see the connection:
1. to what PRESIDENTS do.
2. to what happens when one is given bad information that one did not ask
to have sullied.
3. to normality.

17. even OJ made a show of "searching for the true killer"
if any honest president was truly deceived, you can bet your ass that s/he would investigate and heads would roll.

of course, you could say the same thing about 9/11... if bush* really didn't know about it, wouldn't he launch the mother of all investigations to find out why he was blindsided? unless he's got something to hide...
