Congratulations to Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero and Spain!!!!!!!!
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=514&e=3&u=/ap/20040416/ap_on_re_eu/spain_politics

As you knkow Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero has just won parlimentary vote to be the next prime minister. Unlike his predecessor, Jose Maria Aznar of the conservative Popular Party of Spain, Zapatero wants to remove Spanish Troops from Iraq - something which an overwhelming number of Spanish citizens support.

Spain is a great example of how a country got together and turned things around when their leader did something that the people did not want him to do. Like Aznar, the majority is starting to go against Bush's war in Iraq along with Bush's choice on healthcare, the economy jobs, choice and countless other important issues.

I'm excited that Spain has got this great new leader that will start the healing on this country that has also suffered from terrorist attacks.

I just wanted to start a thread to wish great sucess to Zapatero and all the people of Spain. Your friends in America (the smart progressive thinkers - aka the majority) support you and hopefully we'll be following your lead in 7 months!

4. He's already said that Spain will recognize same sex marriage and give
equal rights to gays. It's refreshing to hear a leader speak up for equal rights instead of trying to take away people's rights.

I am a straight woman who owes my wonderful marriage to a gay man. If it weren't for my gay friend, I would never have met my husband.

5. Thank You
I work for the Spanish Govt in the US, you would not believe the letters and calls we get calling us cowards, kerry lovers, communists, we are accused of sleeping with terrorist, of hating Bush of being anti-American. Some people in the US do not realize that the change of govt in Spain had to do more with Aznar lying and his fascists ways than about the terrorist bombings. The bombings just made more people go to the polls.

6. Well if you're being called "Kerry Lovers"
then that's a compliment.

In Adult Book Stores around the world they're problem selling "Freedom Fly" now

willfuly let themselves be brainwashed by the media so that they can
avoid facing the ugly truth about their country.

Anyway, congratulations from Portugal! I only wish that we could get
ourselves rid of Durao Barroso right now, like you did with Aznar.

9. Deportivo - it's not the majority -
It's a misguided but vocal minority that are harassing you. Most of America is sane and sensible.

Hopefully what happened in Spain and more recently in South Korea will be repeated here in November.

Viva Espana! Viva Zapatero!
