5. Where Did Liddie Boggs Go Wrong? The Shame!

Cookie's the daughter of Hale Boggs, Democratic Congressman from Louisiana who lost his life in a plane crash (no tin foil hats, please), and his wife, Liddie...a great Liberal served the rest of his term and several of her own. She was a trailblazer for women...especially Southern Women.

The Cokester was on NPR for ages...very liberal (she and Susan Stamberg could barely pronounce "Nixon" during the Watergate days)...but, just like other Dems like Mr. Russett Potato & Tweety Matthews...the money, the parties and the conflicts of interest turn them into media whores.

A lot seemed to change after her mother passed from the scene...and his hubby also used to be pretty outspoken against the Repugnicans. Guess they prefer their tax breaks and cozy beltway life to what the rest of the world says or does. A shame when one who claims to be an observer lives with blinders on.

GOP NY Congressman? She was a liberal voice - or at least moderate - and of late has moved to the right - and is on one of the talking head shows.

Somehow that tidbit about NY got associated in my mind with Cookie

Although I heard her husband speak at an actuary's meeting on tax law changes - and he is as RW as she is - but he comes across as sane!

This lady is One of the talking heads that always disappointed me because she was set up as a "liberal" but would never defend Clinton.

Margret Carlson comes to mind - or one of the ladies that went over to Fox as serious types for panels - but the key item was the fact that her dad was a congressman from upstate NY.

In a week or two it will come back to me!

I'll try to think of who you might mean, but it's not Margaret Carlson. She writes for Time Magazine and is on CNN's Capital Gang. A moderate/liberal voice from the left.

There's Carolyn Maloney...whose husband was killed by a gunman and is a strong advocate of gun control...very eloquent as well, and a great Congressman from New York.

I know it's not Margret...I've been a long time fan of hers in Time and then CNN (and no she's not related to Tucker).

Another name that popped into my head is Geraldine Ferraro, but we all know about her. I haven't seen her around lately.

Another I remember was Laurie Stokes, the daughter of Cong. Carl Stokes of Ohio who used to be on MSNBC...when there was some actual balance on that network during the Clinton inquisition.

I'm trying to avoid going for my collection of old Information Please almanacs...
