John Kerry could win Colorado in November.
Leading Colorado Democrats are urging the Kerry campaign to spend time and money in the state, where President Bush won 51 percent of the vote in 2000.
They've believed Bush is ripe for an upset since last summer.

Kerry is listening. Campaign strategists are considering airing ads and send
ing paid organizers to the state. Colorado, a deputy campaign manager says,
ranks with Louisiana and Arkansas as states where Kerry wasn't expected to compete with Bush - but could now.

But some of the nation's most respected pundits say the race here could be close, based in part on two other recent polls that show Kerry and Bush statistically tied in Colorado.
<snip>

Other analysts say Colorado could fit into a Kerry "Southwestern Strategy" that also would include big pushes in Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada.

1. Good God I hope they pay us some attention.
I want them to put their headquarters in CS though. There's an empty field where they could build their HQ, which coincidently is right next to Focus on the Family...

Dobson would crap his pants and hide under his desk.

2. Yea, and they could blast AAR all day long
over loudspeakers. Smoke those fascist family focusers right out of the state.

AAR is coming to the Springs in case you hadn't heard. :D

12. No, I tried to tune the station in yesterday
No go. I'm sure AA will come to Denver soon enough. Meanwhile, I have Sirius primed and ready for the 19th. :)

5. Not Likely, Possible
I've been involved in and watched Colorado politics for many years ... and as much as I would like to believe that Kerry could win here, it is just not likely. As a Kerry strategy, it might be wise to do enough here to make Bush expend more time and money in this state than he would have otherwise. Of course, Kerry could help the Democrats in their US Senate race by campaigning here occassionally.

The only scenario where I see Kerry winning in Colorado would be a further collapse of Bush support below 50 percent. And, in my opinion, if Kerry picks a woman vice presidential candidate that strongly appeals to Denver suburban soccer mom voters. If Kerry could pull moderate Republican women in Lakewood, Littleton, Englewood, Golden, etc, in sufficient numbers, he might be able to squeak a victory here.

11. It would be nice, but
I've got those 9 electoral votes penciled in for the Shrub. I think the Repugs will throw enough "Eastern liberal" mud on Kerry to keep him from winning.
