Is it easier to hate than to love?
- Is war easier than peace? Suspicion easier than trust? Revenge easier than justice?

- Can you imagine the great world we could have if we devoted all this time and money into pursuing peace instead of war?

- Just a thought.

1. Hmm.
I suspect that war, suspicion, and a desire for revenge are very much a part of the human condition - every bit as much so as are a desire for peace, to trust and be trusted, and for justice.

I don't believe we can get away from war/conflict.

2. It's easier to be indifferent...
ignorance is bliss, you know.

I wish sometimes I could just sail through and not think or care about things. But I don't really want that either.

3. Of couse it is, why do you think people would work so much harder?
Love is infinitely more valuable than hate. Hate can only fester and die with it's self. Love is what makes the world go around, just ask the birds and the bees. Warning and Patronizing on DU is not hate, it is preemptive position solving.

I loved the world before * and posse came along, but now * is in place, things are different. Now that I have seen some of the under belly, I wish to find a better place for support of my views of life, hopefully without such a character at the forefront trashing the view.

5. God, no. Hate is such a damned effort.
Everything's tight, tense, gripped. Hate is murder on the muscles and veins and arteries.

Love is pure relaxation. And pleasure. It feels GOOD.

We almost always prefer to feel good. That's why sex is preferred to vomiting.

So, no. Hate isn't easier. Now you have to ask why anyone would want to make the effort.

6. depends on where you want to put your energy
which is where you get your energy exchange.

You can put it into loving ways, peaceful ways, and have it returned in everlasting abundance to you and yours.
or
You can waste it in the opposite ignorant endeavors that will empower no one. Not even yourself but for a short time.

it's simple physics. You have a choice between contraction and expansion.
Hate is contraction. Time, space, all dimensions close in.
Love is expansion. Endless, eternal bliss.

simple choice, eh?
but no, i'm not saying it's easier. You will still have to love your neighbor as yourself. No distinction, no matter where you look, no matter how far. And of course, that includes all physical matter in your awareness, too.

so i still believe the stumbling block is for most humans, the old sticky point of self importance. Believing there is a difference in one's self, and all that is 'out there'.
in here, out there. That's just a trick of semantics. It's where most get stuck. Manipulating the out there for the power of in here.
it's easier to change the self, no matter how hard you may want or try to change the world. Then the world changes.
It's just a path you choose to take. Loving, or hating. Choose wisely.

9. Yes...but it's not good for you
just like it's easier to watch TV than exercise, easier to eat at McDonald's than cook... you get the point.

10. Q: "Is it easier to hate than to love?"
Just you.

Just kidding! Totally kidding.

I remember hearing one time that it takes way more muscles to frown than to smile, but I always find my face gets tired smiling, while I could frown for weeks at a time.

I think it is easier to hate than love if there is more to hate than there is to love in one's life.

These are not great days for love--at least not around here.

11. fear begets hate
always.

My hatred of Bush comes from fear. Fear that America will actually turn out to be a Roman-style imperial colossus. Fear that my fellow citizens are actually blood-thirty narrow-minded, scared ignorant sadists. Fear that Bush and his cronies will destroy our air and water and land and all the great gifts of mother nature that God has given us. Fear that they will turn this country into a medeival-style theocracy.

Bush's popularity has stemmed from Americans fears. Fears that brown men who mysteriously hate us are trying to kill each and every one of us. Fears that we're all gonna be victims of some horribly nightmarish unthinkable act.

Fear of this weird religion we don't understand.

Fear that if we don't kill them first, they'll kill us.

Love and faith are both fearless. They are almost the same thing.

If you love the world, you have faith that goodness will prevail. If you have faith, you trust that men want to do good rather than evil.

Okay I'll shut up now. I think they're great questions.

Live without fear. I'm amazed how scared Americans are.
