Is there a republican forum as big / fast as this one?
I love this place! But it would be nice to have a good debate with the other side and read what there issues are with us. Here I think its safe to say that we all help each other out with information and generally agree with each other.

I found a few liberal only type of forums and few good sites where it is mixed. But is there a big right only forum anywhere?

1. You can't "debate" the other side.
I don't know of repub sites because I don't go looking for them but I am aware of freeperville where like us they do not tollerate the other point of view.

2. I disagree somewhat
I think there's more of a range tolerated here, but it is contingent on people minding their manners and not logging in to disrupt.

3. Are you looking for a Republican forum or an open forum?

Republican forums like Free Republic or Conservative Underground (copycats) are not really open to Dems, and vice versa at DU.....hence the titles. If you want to mix it up there are a lot more of that variety. Try the NYTimes political forums, or any of the forums at the major news web sites....although I'd hardly call the exchanges on those sites "debate". They are something more akin to the kind of exchanges you might witness on Jerry Springer's show...

4. Here is a site if you want a good debate
However, beware, these are the worst of rethugs (Texas A&M political forum). There are a few dems that mix it up just to show them what morons they are. It is easy to register and they never ban people. Enjoy

5. In The Best Of Worlds, Free Debate Would Be
In the best of worlds, open discussion, exchanges of ideas, and free debate would be possible. Unfortunately, my experiences with the lunatic fringe that clusters around such web sites as the Sierra Times and the Free Republic has taught me that the best places for progressives to discuss their ideas with each other is on web sites like DU, with vigilant board monitors ready and willing to eject yobbos, trolls, disruptors, and spammers.

By all means, go discuss politics on Yahoo or AOL if it suits your fancy. But come to DU or other venues if you want to discuss ideas and tactics without the unceasing personal attacks, character assassination, and endless distortion and harassment that the Far Right has convinced itself that passes for "conservative" political discussion.
