What's * going to announce? Gas price up by 28cents per gallon

Gas up here in some cities in Canada just jumped by the equivalent of 28 cents per US gallon. (10 Canadian cents per liter)

That only happens when something's about to happen - that the oil companies already know about.

I'll get my tin(aluminium) foil hat ready.

2. Gas prices jump !

Well I'll tell 'ya - it sure made for some 20 car lineups at those gas stations still at the old price. While I was topping off the tank they changed the sign to the new price.

That's a big jump - even for here.

The firm thinks that excess productive capacity is only 2.0-2.4 MMbpd relative to world demand of about 80 MMbpd. They believe the disorder in the Middle East could convert this surplus to a shortage, shaping a replay of the late 1970s. (etc)
