Dobbs is Crap! Blindsided Gorelick our Dem and I think got info from
Ted Olsen who sat behind Asscroft at the hearings. Olsen found a memo in which Gorelick put in place prohibitions between CIA and FBI Intelligence Exchange. Asscroft surprised Commish with this.

Lou's Trick was confronting Gorelick saying there are people "who have challenged your role on this Commission because you were part of the Clinton administration and therefore you should have recused yourself from asking questions."

Gorelick was blindsided by Lou's attack. She looked like a deer in the headlights, and while she tried admirably to defend her role on the Commission Lou just kept going at her.

Lou got info from Olsen. He's NOT the good guy we think he is!

6. And Thompson, Kean, Kerrey and the others DON'T? What are you saying
This is a battle on the Media of Clinton Vs. Bush. The media don't want to take responsibility for the "Chimp-in-Thief's" P-Residency in how they trashed Gore but never investigated how totally weak a candidate the Chimp was.

So, now we have a Commission going through all of this and they have to "Go After with Big Guns" and smear and tear down any Dem who is on this Commission?

Lou is a POS.

19. Bullshit!
Name one thing she has an interest in.

This was a blantant political attack. Its being orchestrated through the RNC and Dobbs is a party to it.

23. Is it a committee of one? How is it relevant?
All the member of the committee have a political interest in the outcome. More mudding the water with a non-issues.

2. Olsen sat behind Ashcroft? Why does that remind me of the scene
in the Godfather where Pantaglia's brother is sitting in
the back row of the audience.

4. Agreed...
Lou showed his hand with this thing, which, as Gorelick correctly said, has nothing to do with these hearings. Dobbs is good on Jobs, but a Republican bootlicker nonetheless.

14. Thanks! And, now I question why he's doing this "expose" on Outsourcing!
He seems so sympathetic to "Outsourcing" and wants restrictions on Immigration taking American Jobs.

But, what the hell is his "true" agenda? And why don't we have more folks in the media besides Dobbs talking about "Outsourcing?" Or, was he supposed to be the "pressure valve" to make him appear "Fair and Balanced" and to UP his ratings??

These Media Whores are Disgusting. They want to play "Good Cop/Bad Cop" and reverse it around so their audience doesn't even know what the hell is going on.

All of the Cable Media are "playing both ends against the middle" to keep their ratings and salaries high.

5. But wasn't Gorelick appointed by *?
Edited on Tue Apr-13-04 05:36 PM by manco
Remember, this is a PRESIDENTIAL commission, not a Congressional one. Her appointment rests squarely on Shrub's shoulders.

Makes one wonder if this were intentional...wouldn't put it past Rove.

You tell me why John Ashcroft (AG) couldn't write a memo that overturned Gorelick (former Asst AG) if he thought there was a real problem. Crickets...

with Condi Rice like Philip Zelikow did.

If we start talking about 9-11 commission members conflicts of interests, at least half of the commission should resign.

35. We have such high expectations I assume we are doomed to have them
dashed. Dobbs seemed to really be getting onto something...a champion against Corporate Outsourcing. Then he turns and bites in the foot, then goes for the neck and want's to bring us down with deceitfulness.

He's hiding his agenda. Some may be able to accept his "outsourcing" stuff and take it for what it is. Exposing what's going on in our economy for average Americans.

What can I say...I'm a purist..and very suspicious after years now of watching how the Repugs co-opt us.

He talks a little populist shit and some get all googly eyed and think he is the best thing since sliced bread. He wants Bush elected so he can keep his tax cut for the wealthy. Has anyone heard how his wifes case is doing for trying to carry a loaded pistol on to a commercial jet? Or did that get all covered up?

25. Don, gotta agree with you here. I was taken in for awhile with his "out-
sourcing" deal because it needed to be talked about, but then watching what else he's done has made me very suspicious...and now with today's trashing of Gorelick, turned me off. He was also on Imus this a.m. giving some "thumbs up" to Sharon.

All of this makes me think he's just another "dime a dozen" Media Whore.

So sad...this is what we have as our TV Press which is what most Americans look to. And Dobbs probably get's a pretty high I.Q. somewhat informed bunch not like your average "Lacy Peterson/Female Abuse Flavor of the Month Story."

:-( I don't know what to think anymore..

21. I think it was a fair question to ask and I think she answered it fine.
Between Reno saying there wasn't a wall and Gorelick saying Ashcroft's deputy only changed one of the four items I think we won the point.

24. I disagree - the "wall" memo was a bombshell
First, it put the commission on the defensive in terms of questioning Asscroft. Second, it makes Gorelick look like she has a conflict of interest. I hate to say it, but Asscroft put the commission on it's heels after this memo was mentioned and the media whores will pick up on this as evidenced by Dobbs. Gorelick is going to be the story coming out of the hearings today - not Asscroft.

28. Sadly it was a "bombshell." Gorelick didn't expect they would go to that
extent to discredit her. She hasn't been on DU and lives in the DC bubble and really doesn't understand what she's up against. When she saw Ted Olsen sitting behind Asscroft she should have known "dirty tricks" were afoot. Because Ted is run by Mellon Scaife! And his deceased wife was the mouthpiece for Scaife and a counterpart to Coulter for years after Clinton.

Oh...yes..the damned Repug Insiders know where all the Dem bodies are buried and they have the only keys to the graveyard. They are disgusting! :puke:

Sure she was blindsided, but I think she did just fine when she reminded Lou that after all of Ashcrofts whining about the four points that built this WALL, they ended up KEEPING 3 of them!!

I don't hold it against Lou for asking. I don't want him soft peddling the Dems either. If there's a question he needs to ask it!

31. Get Off Lou's Back
Dobbs is a helluva journalist. He is with us on most all domestic issues. It was a reasonable question and one that should be asked without everybody saying that he's now "bad"....The demand for lockstep thinking here can be troubling. Dobb's has done more on his TV program to kill Bush and his agenda on jobs and the economy than all the Air America shows put together. Let him be a journalist and not expect him to be a Al Franken every night.

33. No...what I'm saying about Lou is DON'T be taken in by him! He deserves
no more respect than the rest of the Media Whores! I was almost taken in by him over the "Outsourcing" story where I thought: "Finally, some media person is with us and willing to go out and report this."

But when you look at Lou's whole reporting and watch, you see where he's coming from.

Just BEWARE! Now that I see this I will be very wary of him. Always questioning where he's coming from in his "reporting" and the folks he has on his show once he's hooked us with his "outsourcing." What else is he doing that could "suck you in?" Suck you into the Repug Web...is what I'm saying here.
