Straight out: how to find whether the questions tonite are pre-submitted?
Edited on Tue Apr-13-04 05:32 PM by buycitgo
I know there's a choreography thread, with references to John Dean, which said he thinks the questions are vetted beforehand, like the going to war one.

Is there any way to find out for certain if this is the case?

If it IS true, why on earth do these worms even show up?

they could just let the chimp in chief stand up there and read the already typed up answers.

what's the point of them even being in the room?

it sounds like the sickest of jokes to play on the public

I'm not even going to bother.....might tape for later, in case his head explodes or something, but if he already has the questions, this is just a nauseating timewaster.

What's on that Pax channel?

edit.....anyone discussed the fact that he's going to give an approximately 12 minute speech beforehand?

if the questions are pre-submitted, what's the difference between the first one, and the second one, which is just interrupted by faux questions?

1. They need the appearance of a news conference so the whores can gush about
how much of a beloved leader Bush is and how in command he is.

Remember the truth means nothing to these people. Their method is to make the lie the truth and hammer it home for days. There has been nothing but bad news for them in the last few months so they need this to turn into something they can gain back ground with.

3. if * appears to be answering coherently
and the questions are easy - he is not pressed for a correct answer instead of evasions and if the carefully picks his questioner yep then its fixed

4. According Australian paper - it's to be a "free for all"
"For only the third time since he took office, Mr Bush has agreed to a free-for-all media conference that will be broadcast across the US."

According to The Australian: "He is expected to make a short statement on Iraq at 8.30pm (10.30am AEST) today, before taking questions that will certainly include his response to a memo he received a month before the September11, 2001, attacks indicating al-Qa'ida agents had infiltrated the US and were preparing for an attack."

Better get ready to watch - will take preparation

5. all of sudden I am very afraid
"free for all" press conference? I can't believe *'s handlers would ever allow this unless something big will be announced during his 12-minute "reading" to guarantee the press will be taken off guard and aks questions about the new big thing. OBL caught? pre-emptive strike against North Korea? WMD's found (planted) in Iraq?

6. remember his last conference?
He actually made a reference to calling on someone out of order, or something like that. I think there were media hints that the whole thing was rehearsed.

8. I can't believe the "reporters" (shills) would stand for it.
How can you call yourself a journalist or a reporter and stand for this kind of crap--scripted and vetted with assigned seating?

Folks, this is not your father's America.

The press is now officially a propaganda arm of the White House--at least as long as their corporate masters reside there.

10. Now, as in, since they decided Chimpy would win the
pResidency.

Before that, there were a least a few who would raise questions and raise hell when necessary.

14. That's cuz you weren't invited for fried chicken at the pig farm
pool and when needing to pee even allowed in the "big house' to use the bathroom". What do you know about the amazing perks and privileges these blessed people enjoy?

11. If u hear anything sounding like "Did you do all that you could to prevent
... 9/11?" Well, that's my codeword for "FIX IS IN," as far as this "News Conference" is concerned.

I refer you to this DU thread, where you can pretend to be a member of the conscious and breathing media. :D

16. Follow-ups
Whether the fix is in and the press is part of the facade of a phony press conference is whether Bush will allow follow-ups by the same reporter who asked the initial question. If not then this is an exercise in futility. He knows the topics for sure and pretty well knows the questions themselves, so he has a stock rehearsed answer for each. BUT if the reporter is allowed a follow-up then it gets a lot tougher. The reporter can then point out he didn't answer the question that was asked or can ask something more in depth. No follow-up? He can say anything he damn well pleases and the next reporter will never call him on it.

He landed a few good ballsy questions in Fort Hood on Easter .... Smirky got a WEEEEEEEEEEEEE bit testy with old David G. I'll lay you odds that David G. doesn't get called on tonight.

I think it will be interesting to watch ... I've have my "bucket" close by ... :puke:

and somebody started a THREAD about that

Janeane Garofalo said they talked to Helen Thomas tonight, who said there would be NO scripted questions; no self-respecting reporter would stand for that

is that an oxymoron?
