The people of New York City are mobilizing, speaking out, building
coalitions, banding together and rising up - preparing to counter the
Republican National Convention.
CounterConvention.org is a website designed to be a resource for
organizers and activists who are working to sound a voice contrary to the Republican agenda this fall. The website currently includes a directory of groups organizing around the convention, a calendar of upcoming events, legal information, housing and transportation resources, posters and materials, and ride and housing boards for out of town visitors. We are continuing to work with organizers and activists in New York City to add resources to the website.
We will host a free orientation and training party for organizers
interested in using the site or participating in the project. On Tuesday, April 20 at 7:30 pm at the Prison Moratorium Project the
CounterConvention.org collective will train organizers on how to use the site to help in your organizing efforts, gather feedback on what the site needs, train people interested in becoming moderators, and talk about ways the site's tools can be extended to support your organizing more directly. We hope you will join us for beer, food and a discussion about on line organizing. Contact info@counterconvention.org to RSVP.
