CounterConvention.org looking for help with web-based organizing
Free beer and food for a good cause! I Wish I was in NY!

CounterConvention.org is looking to expand the team behind the website.

The site currently has:
- A calendar and mailing list
- Housing and transportation boards
- Listings of organizations preparing RNC events
- Resources, posters and lots of other useful information and links
- All @ http://www.counterconvention.org

If you have any interest in web based organizing and/or interested in
being a part of the CounterConvention.org team, come to our training/orientation/party below. We will show the site and the backend system that runs it, discuss strategies of using the web and drink free beer and eat free food.

We need help with:
- Adding content and posters
- Reaching out to community groups
- Moderating housing and calendar posts (only e-mail access needed)
- Translations (no technology skills or equipment needed!)

April 20, 7:30 pm
Offices of Prison Moratorium Project

If you are interested in coming please RSVP by replying to this e-mail message. Thanks!

Full Details:

The people of New York City are mobilizing, speaking out, building
coalitions, banding together and rising up - preparing to counter the
Republican National Convention.

CounterConvention.org is a website designed to be a resource for
organizers and activists who are working to sound a voice contrary to the Republican agenda this fall. The website currently includes a directory of groups organizing around the convention, a calendar of upcoming events, legal information, housing and transportation resources, posters and materials, and ride and housing boards for out of town visitors. We are continuing to work with organizers and activists in New York City to add resources to the website.

We will host a free orientation and training party for organizers
interested in using the site or participating in the project. On Tuesday, April 20 at 7:30 pm at the Prison Moratorium Project the
CounterConvention.org collective will train organizers on how to use the site to help in your organizing efforts, gather feedback on what the site needs, train people interested in becoming moderators, and talk about ways the site's tools can be extended to support your organizing more directly. We hope you will join us for beer, food and a discussion about on line organizing. Contact info@counterconvention.org to RSVP.

*** Please RSVP if you plan to attend. ***

1. Solution: Use the Dean software
Take advantage of Howard Dean's support group!

Use their online tools, like DeanSpace

Use all the Dean stuff, and have a rocking summer in NYC!

I might even be there

2. I'm hoping to be there too!
That's why I signed up for updates. But I live in TX, so I can't attend any of their meetings.

3. Internet meetings!
Use IRC or something. Come on, if we can all hang out here on DU, we can put our intelligence into nationalizing the Bush Protest.

One thing i'm a little wary of is all that ANSWER/NION socialist/communist crowd. I wish those guys would just all become Democrats
