To take pressure off of Buscho and Condi Sleeza, and the rest.

1. He may be
but I wouldn't say it was for the "neo-con cause," per se. Johhny-boy is as paleo- as they come.

2. Can't be on purpose
How many people in this administration can be martyred before there's no one left? The whole administration is full of shit, and it's becoming crystal clear to the American public.

3. Yep, they will resurrect him like Ollie North, Ed Messe, etc. Big bucks
bashing gays and talking family values on the talk radio and church circuit.

4. No, because Ashcroft isn't a neocon
He's a theocratic zealot -- a group that the neocons have formed an alliance with, but still vastly different from them.

7. Right. Short term, the neocons may hang them out to dry. Longterm...
I worry about the theocratic zealots more than the neocons. The neocons are cynical and know they're acting for themselves; the theocrats have convinced themselves they're acting for God. There will be no reasoning with them, and they're *very* driven.

6. I do not like what he is saying. I think it is the first time he has heard
of all this. I think he was busy doing other things like flying around talking to other 'important people's tend to believe the guy that said Ashcroft said 'do not bring that up another time"
