Should we expect Dems to heed foreign policy advice only from the left?
Is it wise to listen to a variety of voices from advisors who span the far left to the center, possibly even center right (like a Biden, McCain or Lugar)?

We know Bush heeds ONLY those voices from the far right. What voices would be deemed appropriate to advise Kerry?

1. It's foolish...
It's foolish to limit information in any way, especially in choosing only partisan opinions. Sure, there has to be a time limit on debates, but don't ignore someone just because of his/her political affiliation. Think about how many people would be alive today if Bush would have truly worked towards bipartisanship instead of grabbing power and forcing one train of thought.

2. No President should surround himself with yes men/synchophants.
A wise President gets counsel from advisors that reflect all POV's. If he doesn't, he risks making uninformed decisions. See Bush, George W.

3. That is very dangerous
A President should consider advice from anywhere it comes from, given it is credible.

4. Though I am against the Iraq war, I would most likely be described as
center right by many here. When I think of a left Foreign Policy I think of Carter, and I think of standing back on the hostage situation- which also ended his Presidency. I think the left Foreign Policy post Vietnam War did not do well. It seemed like every country had a grudge against us. Reagan moved too far in the other direction In fact, more Americans were taken hostage while Reagan was President than Carter. I tend to be in the Clinton area as far foreign policy and I think his foreign policy was successful especially in his first term after Somilia where Bush I sent troops.

5. Experience teaches that they won't heed advice from the left anyway
so the question is moot..
