1. I hope they all do.
Time for them to stand up to him and stop putting up with all the crap.

Oh well, I can dream can't I?

4. Did anyone ever conclusively explain that?
Joshua Marshall noted that there may have been a more innocent explanation for Bush's remark; apparently the AP guy was talking on a cell phone while asking the question. You'd think that if the President had been dissing a reporter for calling him "Sir" pure and simple, we'd have heard more about it unless the press has gone absolutely and completely spineless. (Someone there must have felt insulted.)

Frankly, I hope the press corps has more important things on their mind tonight, like asking tough followup questions...

8. Thats rude, if true
Edited on Tue Apr-13-04 11:20 AM by fishnfla
Apparantly the guy had the cell phone up to his ear, I cant stand those intrusive devices, so if true I'll give the chimp the benefit of the doubt.

remember shrub called out the AP guy "where's the AP guy?" maybe he saw him with the phone there and set him up

5. They won't dare....

Bush has media walking a fine line

As the potential for war against Iraq grows stronger, the White House press corps faces a delicate challenge: how to balance its obligation to hold President Bush accountable while respecting the challenges he faces at a critical time in history.

Nowhere was that more apparent than last week, when Bush called a rare prime-time news conference, which networks and cable outlets covered.

There, Bush made two unprecedented moves that could signal the way he and his administration plan to handle — some say intimidate — the media during wartime.

9. I've never in my life
...referred to a lying, miserable sack of shit as "sir" or "Mr. President," so why should a reporter have to do so?
