In this current climate, it's pretty amazing to me that one in 3 people would say that the coalition is responsible.

We (oops I mean the coalition) invades a country and removes the only stabilizing factor (as evil as he may have been) and we wonder why there is chaos??? Then introduce that we are viewed as imperialists (currently acting like it) throughout the region and...

4. What drives me crazy, though

Is we invaded, in part, to "liberate" the people of Iraq. Now that the people are rising up like the Sicilians on Vespers to throw us out, they have become insurgents. If we have to slaughter 50% of the population, we are not liberators, any more than Caesar, Napolean or Hitler were.

On some level, the insurgents are, of course, responsible for the crisis, since they're killing, kidnapping, etc.

Of course, this was something we could and should have foreseen, when we essentially destroyed the Iraqi infrastructure.

The lack of nuance here is classic CNN junk.

The voice of "America at War." The only reason they came into existence in the first place was because of gulf war 1. All the other "news" stories they show is just filler in between war coverage....
