Olbermann: there was a second edition of that PDB, issued 8/7
Keith Olbermann says there was another edition of that PDB sent around to other members of the administration on 8/7, and that the information about attacks in the U.S. was not included.

Did anyone else hear this? Or have you seen any other stories about it???

By JOHN SOLOMON

WASHINGTON (AP) - Just one day after President Bush received a pre-Sept. 11 briefing on al-Qaida's effort to strike on U.S. soil, senior government executives received a similarly titled memo that excluded information about current threats and investigations, say federal officials who have read both documents.

The Aug. 7, 2001 memo, known as the senior executive intelligence brief or SEIB, didn't mention the 70 FBI investigations into possible al-Qaida activity that Bush had been told of a day earlier in a memo entitled "Bin Ladin Determined to Strike in U.S.," the officials said Monday.

The senior executives' memo also did not mention a threat received in May 2001 of a U.S.-based explosives attacks or say that the FBI had concerns about recent casing of buildings in New York, the officials told The Associated Press.

They spoke on condition of anonymity because the senior executives' memo remains classified.

Edited on Mon Apr-12-04 11:10 PM by swag
and I have read it a few times tonight, the more fucked up it seems. Sorry I'm so slow on the uptake, but this just falls in line with this:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/events/newsnight/1645527.stm

GREG PALAST:
The CIA and Saudi Arabia, the Bushes and the Bin Ladens. Did their connections cause America to turn a blind eye to terrorism?

UNNAMED MAN:
There is a hidden agenda at the very highest levels of our government.

JOE TRENTO, (AUTHOR, "SECRET HISTORY OF THE CIA"):
The sad thing is that thousands of Americans had to die needlessly.

PETER ELSNER:
How can it be that the former President of the US and the current President of the US have business dealings with characters that need to be investigated?

6. Those same creeps were saying,
"Oh yeah, well the President gets briefed by intelligence officials almost every day, so he obviously knows more than you do about whether Saddam is an imminent threat!"

And guess what. Those creeps were wrong again.
