1. Since they already hired so many of the former secret police...

...they wanted to fill out their staff with the people who had the most experience oppressing the Shia.

I swear, at this rate I wouldn't be surprised if the Bush tried to re-install a now contrite Saddam to get his ass out of the sling before November.

2. unbelievable. . .
the dumbest things they ever did were to fire all the security forces, put in a puppet government of exiles who had no credibility whatsever, give all the no bid contracts to Halliburton and it's subsidiaries ("K .Burn& Loot") who refused to hire any Iraqi's at all, set up shop in Sadaam's palaces, shut down al Sadr's paper that no one was reading.. . .oh forget it. . .I give up. . .there are far too many stupid things to mention.

4. I actually think this is still possible
I could see them putting Saddam back in, I really could. The media would turn on a dime, too.

3. It's a perfect marriage of convenience

Contrary to the predictable propaganda spit out by the embedded media, by now most of the resistance is anti-Saddam and is actually composed of most of the groups Saddam's gov't fought when it was in power. So if they hire back the Mukhabarat, bureaucrats, and army elites, it's a case of the interests between the invaders and their former agents coinciding (not a flattering situation, since in any decently run society that would instantly prove as a widespread demolishing and invalidation of every bullshit argument the liars and murderers used to get us here).

5. War Criminal Kissinger
was on Lou Dobbs explaining that a democratic Iraq was a nice goal but that other methods might be necessary for now. Dobbs dropped the the hot potato immediately. Pretty clear that the butcher of Vietnam and Chile was recommending Gestapo tactics.

6. God help all of those that continue to listen to Kissinger.
Yes, I heard it and it was disturbing. Mr. Kissinger needs to be put on trial. There are many countries asking for it. Kissinger is a criminal and guilty of treason and high crimes against this government. There is no question. As are Most of the Rest of this regime, Cheney, Negroponte, Abrams, Reich........the list just goes on and on. If we can eliminate Stern (and I am no fan), can we not eliminate North and Limbaugh, on our airwaves?
