On CNN: US soldier to Iraq detainee: "S**k my a**, b**ch, OK?"
"I want to stick my foot up your a**." The detainees just sat there quietly with making no response. The soldiers admitted they hoped the detainees would run so they could shoot them. You had to see this on film to believe it -- is THIS how our soldiers are representing the US in Iraq? God!

I saw this last night on CNN Presents: Hope and Fear -- reporter Nic Robertson showing the truth about occupied Iraq. I double checked my ears and eyes this morning by reading the CNN transcript -- it's all there, without the asterik bleeps, at CNN.com.

Also shown: an Iraqi policeman grabbing the stick of a US soldier to prevent him from striking an Iraqi citizen: differing philosophies of crowd control.

Also shown: Sherif Ali, a contender to the former Iraqi throne who now lives in Baghdad, explaining how the coalition has completely failed to understand the social and political needs of the Iraqi people and is now using increasingly brutal force to take Iraq down the tubes.

I can't describe it all -- it was a one hour special and it wasn't pretty. But thanks to Nic Robertson of CNN for showing the truth -- the way he continues to report the truth in Afghanistan.

i have been sittin with this today. i didnt see your program but it is just what i am seeing. the u.s. army doesnt get it. they are clueless and dont get it. they dont see their role. they dont see how they are creating this. the u.s. army feels justified in this hate. all they sit is in this hate that begets more hate.

things they are doing. easy things to stop that will shift this whole thing

i have been on iraqi blogs. and i have listened to a couple people since before the invasion. the stable in iraqi, the moderate, the normal. and they were willing to experience the suffering at the beginning...........and now their voice is so different. and they are sad. and it is a why u.s. do you not get this. you murder innocent, babies and tell us to turn the channel

this is a simple, it is a small of the whole, but it is clear. the soldiers print bloodlust, thirst? on a tank in red. that is offensive. it is offensive to the good the hard working. the supporters. it is not cute. it is offensive to me all the way over here, as i look at the dead babies, and i look at the grown men sobbing cause they lost someone they love, a fellow soldier.

the iraqi want to support and make this work, but they cannot work with what the u.s. created. halliburton is a big feeding ill to the fire.

rumsfield snotty and stupid, in the looting from the beginning and his lite, oh they are expected to do this. was like saying f*ck you people

bush........bring it on (let me make sure my penis is still there wuss)

9. No justification for the soilders actions
but please don't try to impart a sense of civilization when people are in a war zone.

I was against us going into Iraq, I am against us being in Iraq, and while al quaeda is regrouping, our resources are being dwindled away, but these soilders are scared, and in most cases there lives are on the line. There is no way I would be hard on these guys

10. That's really sad and a shame.
Authority is possibly needed but not stirrung up agression and treating the Iraqies like sub humans. It's that kind of sentiment that could turn more rage against the US soldiers themselves. Really bad diplomatic skills.

First I want to make clear that I don't want to blame the US military as a whole. But I saw video footage of how wounded people on the ground got shot to death.
You possibly know that video where an Iraqi on the ground got shot and the US soldiers were celebrating and cheering.
Another video that was shown in the same report was video footage from a military helicopter. It observed some Iraqies who were probably dealing with weapons, not sure. They started to fire. Legitimate or not, seeing people getting shot from these bullets from a Comanche(?) was shocking. What made it worse was US soldiers talking and seeing the injured Iraqies crawling on the ground. One US soldier said that this one was injured and then he got told to take them out. At least 2 times did this exchange "He's injured." "take him out" happen.
It was damn fucking shocking that one almost couldn't follow the report, my whole family was shocked.
They also interviewed an American(forgot who) and they showed him these videos. He said that shooting injured is against the Geneva convention, he had no doubts about that.
Again, I don't want to judge about these soldiers, I just wanted to share the horror. More people should know about things like this.

12. I missed that "take them out" broadcast -- sounds horrific
How can our soldiers go around behaving like barbaric street thugs, apparently not only with the APPROVAL of their officers but at the COMMAND of their officers? I thought we were a better people than that . . . I just can't imagine our young men behaving that way toward the Iraqi people -- I'm so ashamed and sick at heart, I could die.
