Poll question: How much is life worth?
How much do we care when we hear that an Iraqi civilian is killed? How much do we care when we hear that a US soldier is killed? Do we care equally? Should we care equally?

1. We should care equally,
but I don't, and yes I do feel bad that I don't.

2. An eye for an eye is so B.C.
Can't we all just stop killing each other and work forward from there.

4. Other, obviously
<strong anger & sarcasm> Apparently by Bremer, Bush et al's calculation, 4 US mercenaries are worth all males over the age of 10 in the entire city of Fallujah.

5. Beyond calculation
Give up the attempt at arithmetic. There is no quantifiable way to measure the value of a human life. And besides, someone's death is someone else's pain. From pain comes anger, from anger conflict. For each Iraqi we kill, we probably cause 10-100 others to thirst for vengeance. It would be so if, say, the Chinese rolled in here and killed on of my family or friends. Since we have killed approximate 650 Iraqis (90% terrorists, we've been told), we have created on the order of 6500-65000 new sworn enemies.

This would appear to be net loss for American purposes. Jeeze, these idiots worship business so much ... why don't they understand its first principles? We're selling Democracy ... this no way to woo the potential customers.

7. ......................
I don't believe anyone has the right to judge what a life is worth, which is why I don't believe in war.
