Bush Is In Big Trouble
Regardless of what the polls say, just look at what Bush is facing as he runs for re-election. Is there any possible way to salvage the situation in Iraq? The military is threatening to crush any resistance, but the get-tough strategy seems to be backfiring.

And the economy? People aren't fooled by statistical tricks. Everybody knows the jobs aren't out there. You can't fake things like that.

The war on terror? These guys don't know what they're doing. Bush doesn't seem to have anything to run on except his amiable good-ole-boy persona. Is that enough, given America's substantial problems? God, I hope not.

3. what's so great about the PDB being declassified
if NOTHING else happens -- is that this has already sliced right into the heart of bushco.'s re-election strategy... ALL he had to run on was "turrism" and 9/11... now if he dares running ads about it - it will only call to attention his LACK of action before 9/11...

he has NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING to run on...

12. $200 million for ads, and all he can do
Is stand there with his dick in his hand, wishing he had done SOMETHING right at least once in his preznitdency. No wonder we haven't seen him lately. He's toast.

5. I'd say you are right.
The only thing that is saving * right now is his lack of awareness.
If he even had the remotest idea of what he has presided over, I don't think he would ever be able to show his face in public.

But like Dostoyevky's man of action, he is basically stupid.

I can only hope there is a way to hold him accountable for being the war criminal he is. Yes he is in trouble.

We are at 667 US killed, and mounting. By the end of the year will we reach 1000?

8. Us Libs know this!!!
The problems comes when we have to convince the swing voters!!! However things aren't good when you enter a war without a plan. The PNAC is full of neocon idiots who planned on american imperialism and forcing "democracy". This is a total failure and will never work. If things in Iraq don't improve things aren't good for W. Not only do I hope we are rid of him but also those neocon psuedo-intellectual idiots.

9. we're out of troops in Iraq, they're putting off catching Osama, Musharaf
is wondering what the hell's going on, even he realizes that the Iraq quagmire is stealing all the troops away from the actual war on al-queda.

If somebody were to attack us right now, we'd be fucked, because our entire army is bogged down massacreing civilians in Fallujah and elsewhere.

Yup. Pretty bad.

10. If the Iraq situation becomes a big liability, he will lash out at
a town like Fallujah, kill many thousands and will be immediately rewarded in the polls for being tough against "terrorists".If this fails, BBV will bail him out.He has three things going for him, all
capable of returning him to power: the ignorance of Americans, their racist xenophobia and his resort to BBV and other subterfuges to skew the election in his favor. As he said to Tim Russert "I will not lose".
The man knows whereof he speaks.

13. You may be right.
But eventually this house of cards is going to fall apart. Yet the more troubling questions remain regarding what follows. Don't say it can't happen here.
It could. It may. God only knows what a society in fear is willing to allow to happen. You need look no further than Germany in the 1930s.

14. Don't forget, he's sold people on FEAR
One of our tasks is to expose this whole FEAR thing for what it is, and help people understand just what a bill of goods they've been sold.

We underestimate the Fear Factor at our own peril.

15. I agree.
This scenario keeps playing in my head. Let chimpy blow some of his quarter billion on making it look like he's trying to win. Then when he loses, let him take the remainder of his loot to the Caymans.
Kerry is elected, and his Presidency is effectively neutralized by the pod people, thus setting up Jethro for '08.
