I was watching that scene with the parents who I guess thought their daughter was dead. Jesus christ...if you want to make a homeland security movie, fine, but making it so deliberately emotional...that's just cheap and tacky.

And then the folks in Afghanistan...glad to see no easy stereotypes there. :eyes:

Man, I'd forgotten how cheesy made-for-TV movies are. I haven't seen one in a while. If this wasn't such a sore topic I might actually enjoy it.

By the way, was it me or were the Afghans saying "Taliban" in english? Do they not have their own word for Taliban?

4. agree -- this is rather creepy

Not only does it portray Arab-Americans as sneaky (the guy we thought was "good" turns out to be making evil plans) -- but by mixing real and made-up "news" events it could convince people who haven't been following the news that there WAS a "dirty bomb" plot in Seattle.
