3. Not bad so far for a TV movie.
They always get lousier as they go along, though.

I missed the very start but caught the tail end of the script-intro as it scrolled off the screen. It looked to be saying something about the Homeland Security study being ignored. That's not particularly approving of the Bush administration, but I doubt the movie will take a political position. In a climate as polarized as we've become I imagine even a centrist political slant would piss off both sides.

So far it's been about flight-school training, FBI informants, etc, but now it looks like they're going to boarding the 9/11 planes right before the first break. If so, this is the first movie about 9/11 to come out, and I didn't hear a single word of it advertised in advance. That's pretty amazing.

7. Repeating the big lies
"Why couldn't we see this coming?"
Ask Gary Hart and Warren Rudman.

"Nobody could have anticipated hijacked commercial jets being used as missiles"
The pilot episode of The Lone Gunmen comes to mind.

12. Oh, look! the rationale for detaining American citizens
without arrest, trial, lawyer, or habeas corpus.

Isn't that sweet.

8. Well, now we know. It's the CIA's fault.
Surprise!

Anyone chronicaling the outright lies? I like the one where the CIA guy was just blown away by the idea that anyone would use a plane as a weapon.

17. OMG how awful.
The only program I watch on regular TV is CSI. I couldn't make it to the end. I sincerely hope the that Sony does a better job of Richard Clarke's book.

18. I found it rather creepy ...
They're mixing up fact and fiction to the extent that a lot of people might assume that there WAS a post-9/11 "dirty bomb" plot in Seattle, involving terrorists coming in from Canada -- it's as if they've mixed up elements from several different cases.

And the ending, where the Muslim-American guy was shown to be the villain after all -- tacky.

It would be like doing a remake of "Bad Day At Black Rock" where, surprise surprise, the Japanese-American character was a deep-cover kamikaze.
