problem with racism

so it's almost footbal season. wich, of course, means that student athletes are being interviewed by the local news. i'm a big football fan, like any red-blooded american boi, so i watch my local team avidly.

i watch the news broadcasts in the evening when they talk to the players, and, since they are college kids, some use improper grammar. no big deal.

but when these interviews are printed in the newspaper the next morning, the white ids' grammar is magically corrected while the black kids' grammar is not.

1. If you can come up w/ examples

why don't you cite them and write a letter to the editor? Since this type of racism is often done w/out even thinking about it, examples will show the editor where it's happened and hopefully open eyes about the prob.

2. I have never seen what you describe

I do hear many college athletes speak so poorly that it makes me question entrance and graduation policies not only of the college they are in, or have graduated from--but the High School, and in some cases, the Grade School that passed them on in the first place.

What bothers me is when the "News" papers fix "AWOL boys" poor grammer. As do White House transcripts.
