!! Whaaaa!! 4/4/01 Fox show of government plot to hijacked planes ....
and fly them into the WTC!

Anybody see this!! Talk about slipping under the radar.

March 4, 2001 - The Fox TV series 'The Lone Gunmen' aired the episode "Pilot" which depicts a U.S. government conspiracy plot to crash a Boeing 727 into the WTC and blame it on foreign terrorists in order to gain support to increase their military's budget.
http://thewebfairy.com/killtown/lonegunmen.html

"I don't think anybody could have predicted that...they would try to use an airplane as a missile, a hijacked airplane as a missile," said National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice <http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/05/18/attack/main509488.shtml>." -CBS (05/17/02)
"You hate to admit it, but we hadn't thought about this <http://www.defenselink.mil/news/Oct2001/n10232001_200110236.html>," Air Force Gen. Richard Myers said. -DoD (10/23/01)
"What's disturbing about it to me is, you think as a fiction writer that if you can imagine this scenario, then the people in power in the government who are there to imagine disaster scenarios can imagine it, too." - Frank Spotnitz <http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/art-tv.html?2002-06/21/10.00.tv>, Co-Producer of The Lone Gunmen
"In the early 1960s, America's top military leaders reportedly drafted plans to kill innocent people and commit acts of terrorism <http://abcnews.go.com/sections/us/DailyNews/jointchiefs_010501.html> in U.S. cities to create public support for a war against Cuba." -ABC (5/01/01)
The FOX TV series The Lone Gunmen (X-Files spin off) airs their opening episode "Pilot" six months before 9/11 which depicts a secret U.S. government agency behind a plot to crash a Boeing 727 into the WTC via remote control and blame it on foreign terrorists in the hopes of generating a bigger military budget.

is the use of remote guidance system (Globalhawk by another name). Also the motivation is to boost the political ratings of President.

For some reason I couldn't get the visual part to work.

All it proves is that the average tv scriptwriter is smarter than our president and his entire staff collectively. Which should surprise no one.

10. The NYC band Soul Coughing did a song "Is Chicago Is Not Chicago"
that begins "A man drives a plane into the Chrysler Building"
http://www.lyricsdir.com/s/soul-coughing/is-chicago-is-not-chicago.php

And there was a rap/hip-hop group that had an album cover that showed the WTC blowing up after being hit by an airplane.

This was all done pre-9/11, just weird coincidences that get noticed today.

BTW, on 4-2-01 a plane crashed into the Morning Glory Dairy in Ashwaubenon (a Green Bay suburb) after take-off from Austin Straubel International Airport here in Green Bay.

The 9/11 hijackers trained at Huffman Aviation, which was then owned by Green Bay PNACer (and friend of Rudi Dekkers and Arne Kruitikof) Wally Hilliard. I always wondered about that 4-2-01 crash, I have no doubt that Wally Hilliard is a spook of the RW variety. The DEA seized a plane of his that had 43 pounds of heroin aboard-nothing ever happened to Wally though.

But that X-Files script is intriguing.

20. In hindsight, what a strange name for a group to have with that pic,
pre-9/11, I was wrong about the pic (no airplane) but suggests the use of explosives, doesn't it?

26. Picked it up from Snopes
while looking for a snap of the cover.

http://www.snopes.com/rumors/thecoup.htm

Clip--->

Origins: The image below pictures the planned cover art (prepared in June 2001) for the forthcoming "Party Music" album by the hip-hop group The Coup. The cover depicts The Coup with an exploding World Trade Center in the background; group member DJ Pam the Funktress waves two sticks held between thumbs and forefingers (as if "conducting" the proceedings with two batons) while "Boots" Riley displays what looks like a detonator (but is actually just a guitar tuner).

Riley explained the symbolism behind the cover:

I came up with the idea with the photographer. We took the pictures on May 15, and we were done with it by the beginning of June. Any similarities are totally coincidental, and it was originally supposed to be more of a metaphor for destroying capitalism — where the music is making capitalist towers blow up. The politics of the Coup have more to do with the people organizing each other.

<-----Clip

Freaky, no doubt. I tend to think more of the 1,000 monkeys than anything else, but I do believe that the internet has made discoveries like this more likely to happen. Who knows, before the Titanic sank, or the Hindenburg crashed, who's to say some person in Podunk, BFE didn't have a sketch of it.

Who knows, before the Titanic sank, or the Hindenburg crashed, who's to say some person in Podunk, BFE didn't have a sketch of it.

"In 1898, a short story was written by Morgan Robertson about how a ship named the "Titan", collided with an iceberg and sank with heavy loss of life. The story was called "Futility", and it closely resembled the Titanic disaster. Both ships were British and sailed in April with a top speed of 24-25 knots. They had the same passenger capacity of 3,000 but sailed with a little over 2,000. Also they were between 800 and 900 feet long and driven with triple propellers. Here's the clincher; both ships sank after being pierced by an iceberg on their starboard side."

How's that for weird? This novelette was in the Titanic's library when she sank...as a joke. It turned out to be a sick joke.

my pre-coffee memory was faulty. the plane crashes into the Capitol Building not the WH:

starting with a knock-down premise set up in Debt of Honor, which ended with a jetliner crashing into the Capitol, taking out the president, congress, the cabinet and the Supreme Court justices.

"Amazon.com
Tom Clancy goes to the White House in this thriller of political terror and global disaster. The American political situation takes a disturbing turn as the President, Congress, and Supreme Court are obliterated when a Japanese terrorist lands a 747 on the Capitol. Meanwhile the Iranians are unleashing an Ebola virus threat on the country. Jack Ryan, CIA agent, is cast in the middle of this maelstrom. Because of a recent sex scandal, Ryan was appointed vice president, a slot he doesn't hold for long when he lands in the Chief Executive's chair. He goes after the Iranians and then tries to piece together the country and his life the only way he knows how--with a fury that we've grown accustomed to in Clancy's intricate, detailed, and accurate stories of warfare and intrigue. --This text refers to the Hardcover edition."

Iran also assasinates Saddam Hussein in that book and then takes over Iraq into a "United Islamic Republic" and starts invading Kuwait/Saudi Arabia and loses (the bad guys always lose in Clancy).

That book was one of the first things I thought of on 9/11.

It's the one--I don't remember the title--that puts Jack Ryan in the Presidency by having a suicidal Japanese airline pilot (WOW, a modern kamikaze sneak attack. Tom's bigotry is about as subtle as Clive Cussler's) slam his jet into the Capitol, wiping out the entire chain of command (!!!) above him.

Dare one even mention the ridiculous "Turbulence," in which Ray Liotta flies a 747 (upside-down at times!) over a metropolitan area, slapping down billboards with the wingtips and scraping rooptops with the landing gears?

edit: whoops, a second too late, beaten to the punch

21. Nope
You'll never see this episode aired again. The plane was not hijacked per se, it's controls were overridden by a remote computer. And if I remember correctly, the government did it to cause a tragedy to distract from some scandal.

You won't see that on FOX anytime soon.

30. Oh, You Never Know
After 9/11, I haven't seen the "Simpsons" episode in which Homer visits the WTC...but I HAVE seen the "boy band" episode, in which a crazed Navy recruiter commandeers a warship (somehow), sails it into New York (the WTC visible in the skyline, natch), and opens up its cannons on a Manhattan skyscraper, flattening it.

Because it's the MAD Magazine "building," there are only four or five people in it, and all rise from the rubble without a scratch.

Survivor #1: Is everyone okay??
Survivor #2: I'm fine.
Survivor #3: I actually feel better.

Oh yeah, they'll air that one.
