Edit - of course not everyone, but a substantial proportion of the country.

4. Because it's the day before Easter
I realize that not everyone celebrates Easter, but millions and millions of Americans do, many of whom vote Republican. I didn't know about this until I logged onto DU. This won't be big news to lots of people, and it's a perfect time to release it for minimum media impact.

7. Why? On a Saturday? Just before Easter?
So the nation will be too preoccupied with blissing out on chocolate to notice a document that proves that Chimpy McFlightsuit KNEW that Osama wanted to attack targets in the US -- and he and Condi the Amateur did NOTHING.

8. Because weekends are clos newscycles--releasing on a weekday
would mean wall-to-wall coverage. TV news viewership and newspaper reading are much lower on the weekend.

9. Explosives?
The PDB says that Al-Qaeda was planning to attack inside the U.S. using explosives. How, exactly, could they attack us not using explosives? The only other way would be to use chemical/biological weapons, which, to the best of our knowledge, Al-Qaeda does not have.

So I don't see any big deal.

11. The last sentence of the PDB...
"CIA and the FBI are investigating a call to our embassy in the UAE in May sayingthat a group or Bin Laden supporters was in the U.S. planning attacks with explosives."

How recent is May??????

As long as it had to go out, they figured they'd try and slide it under the radar.
