I am calling and probably caucusing for Kerry but my heart belongs to Dean
Well, I got a call from the Kerry camp about calling for him. Now, I think that Dean will hopefully have his representation in his delegation and even in Kerry's. I do feel it is important to be united now. After Dean dropped out, I stayed away to watch Edwards and Kerry fight it out on Super Tuesday. When Kerry won, I figured that I ought to get behind him out of a show of unity. Do you think it is a good idea to caucus for Kerry but wear my Dean button?

2. Dean is a young enough person.
He can run again. So wear his button right next to Kerry's.

4. I am an English teacher and one thing we say to students is
Know your audience!

I assume a lot of the people you know and are working with are Dean supporters and would be happy to see Dean's button. I would be in that category.

However, if you are campaigning in a neighborhood with lots of Republican-leaning independents, I would not wear the Dean button. I have done a lot of door to door campaigning and I've never worn a button at all, although I have worn a T-shirt with the candidate's name printed on it.

6. Ir you really want Dean's
ideas to stay out there at least through the Convention, you should still be caucusing for him. On March 13 we had our caucuses here in Kansas, and there were enough Dean people to get one delegate and one alternate pledged to Dean to the national convention.

The downside about the Kerry bandwagon is that the issues are no longer being debated very much. And what truly saddens me is that back when everyone was switching to Kerry because of the "electability" crap, peoples views were much more in line with what Dean was saying that what Kerry was saying.

7. Why caucus for Kerry?
I still love Dean and I'm going to make sure that the Dean ideas are represented. Being for Dean means something to me. It means that I am not satisfied with the status quo and I will try my best to move the party to represent Democratic ideals and not be Republican-lite.

For instance, I can't understand why Kerry is advocating lower corporate taxes when 60% of corporations DIDN'T PAY TAXES for years. Being for Dean says that I think corporations should pay their fair share of taxes.

Kerry said he is upset that George Bush f-upped the Iraq war. Dean thinks we shouldn't have gone into Iraq at all. Dean's position will become more and more obviously right as time passes.

So I am sticking to my plan to caucus as a Dean delegate. I hope you will consider doing so also.

8. Sure, why not? Kerry's asking for your vote, not your heart. nt
