"I love my dead gay son!" (son of Operation Rescue founder comes out)
Edited on Fri Apr-09-04 11:24 PM by Paragon
Randall Terry, the founder of Operation Rescue, tries to head off the controversy by posting this article on WorldNetDaily. *RIGHT-WING SOURCE ALERT*

P.S. "I love my dead gay son" is a reference to "Heathers", not a quote from the esteemed Mr. Terry. - Paragon
;-)

My prodigal son, the homosexual
http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=37979

snippets:

I am still in a state of shock; I have been grieving for days. My son, Jamiel Terry, was paid $5,000 by Out magazine (to appear April 20, 2004, on newsstands) to write a story about being Randall Terry's homosexual son. I pray my following words help other grieving parents and serve as a warning to moms and dads of small children to be unflinchingly and unashamedly diligent to protect their children from predators, and bring a reality check to those exploiting my son...

For me, the most horrifying part of the story is my son's admission: "I did have numerous sexual encounters with my friends, usually during sleepovers at my parents' house" and "I was home from boarding school in my old bedroom at my parents' house in Windsor, N.Y., where my friend 'Johnny' and I had just finished fooling around...we had been having sex for ages..."...

The story stated, "My father is still trying to get me to go to a three-month retreat to be 'delivered' from homosexuality." This is also not true. Jamiel has repeatedly asked me to pay for him to go to "Love in Action," which offers sound clinical, in-patient therapy to those who want freedom – and they have a great success rate with homosexuals. Even after the article was done, he asked me to help. I have offered to pay for the in-patient care, and the offer still stands...

But when I saw the Out article, I went to Charlotte, N.C., (where he is now) to tell him I love him, and how hurt I was that he betrayed our families privacy, and that he was not welcome in my home right now – not because of his homosexuality, but because he could sell us out again. At any point, he could come for a holiday, make mental notes and find another buyer for another story. I have a great wife, a teenage daughter and two small boys; I will not let that type of intrusion happen again...

1. The Op Rescue guy is put out because he feels INTRUDED upon?
There are no words to describe how I feel about that. None.

2. Seem like these folks...
are all for family strength and unity unless their children disagree with them. Then, they are happy to cut them out of their lives. Sounds like something Jesus would tell people to do. :eyes:

13. This is interesting though...
So, Terry dumps his wife and kids for a younger woman, then agonizes over his kid's conflicted sexuality?

The creep should look in the mirror!

14. And this too...
His recent history is ugly. In fact, it mitigates much of what he did before.

You think there's nothing wrong with soliciting funds from his gullible former followers in order to pay for a $432,000 house for he and his new lollipop?

4. So what's the problem, Randall Terry?
Edited on Fri Apr-09-04 11:27 PM by scottxyz
He knows that the only reason Out, and now CNN, (and God knows who else before it's over) want to talk with him is because he's "Randall Terry's son."

= = =

What's the problem, you think some of the loot should rightfully go to YOU??

Take a page from Lynne Cheney's playbook and write a steamy gay novel!

5. I guess he'd really hate the theory about the Good Samaritan parable
Goes like this. The Samaritans were Hellenizing Jews, meaning they were Jews who followed Greek customs, philosophies, teachings, etc. The Greeks, of course, saw no distinction between male sex and female sex, and many believed that a person could only truly love an equal. Since to them, men and women weren't equal, the truist sexual love was between people of the same gender. Read Plato's Symposium, or Sappho's poetry.

So one theory of the strife between Samaria and Israel was over Samaria's acceptance of homosexuality (though there was not really a word for it then). Samaria had much the same reputation as San Francisco, and many mainstream Jews reacted to Samaritans the way Nixon reacted to people from SF.

Read the good Samaritan parable with that in mind, and see if it makes a difference.

But hey, with the quality of humanity Randy Terry shows by turning out his son in his most vulnerable moment, I doubt he could grasp any of Jesus's words anyway.

6. "Please, parents, learn from this tragedy. "
Are you kidding me? What tragedy? He's gay, not dead! Having your son killed in a war based on a lie ... now that's a tragedy!

Paragon ... the "Heathers" reference was perfect. Remember Christian Slater's follow-up line: "I wonder how he'd feel if he had a gay son with a pulse?" My guess is he'd feel like Randall Terry does. :eyes:

7. After Googling "Randall Terry"...
Edited on Fri Apr-09-04 11:44 PM by Paragon

...Therefore, it is with a profound sadness that I report to you that Randall has separated from his wife and family, from his church, and from all of us who have been running the race of faith with him. It is a self-chosen path. He has been confronted time and again by those who truly love him (wonderful friends who have been battle tested over time to be true to Christ and to him) to repent and return to his first love, his wife, and his church - all to no avail! Randall has dragons to slay and funds to raise! All the while his family, his church, his testimony, and the children he has been ordained to protect, are being slain by the real dragon of his soul.

http://www.holysmoke.org/hs00/hatred.htm

From the demagogue Randall Terry, head of the reactionary cult Operation Rescue, on his group's agenda: "I want you to just let a wave of intolerance wash over you... I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good... Our goal is a Christian nation. We have a biblical duty, we are called by God, to conquer this country. We don't want equal time. We don't want pluralism." (The News-Sentinal, Fort Wayne, Ind., 8/16/93)

Dear Friend,

As you probably know, the Supreme Court said that homosexual perversions are a "liberty" guaranteed by our Constitution, opening door to homosexual marriage.

This ruling puts our Republic in great danger. I beg you to read and weigh these words, and prayerfully consider joining me to turn back this assault...

9. Wasn't Randall Terry kicked out of his church when they
learned about an adulterous relationship he had? And didn't he lie about that?

What kind of message does that send to the kid? And how old is his son now?

And on top of all of the obvious and perverse ways he's dealing with this, why does he have to exhibit (by writing this article and trashing his son) the very same behavior he condemns?

father. I feel for anyone who has to have parents like
that. My parents are colossol. They would never do this
ever. Either you love your kids as they are or you don't.
This man needs a therapist.

11. Bwahahahaaahaaaa!!!
FUCK Randall Terry and his mongol horde of knuckle-dragging Pro-Over-populationist cretins straight up their fanatical asses!!

I had the distinct displeasure of spending the better part of a year battling these asshats on a daily basis when Operation Oppress-you laid seige to Cincinnati in the early 90s. (I worked as a Planned Parenthood clinic escort.) These people are SO UTTERLY DELUSIONAL, so far removed from any type of reality, with their religious frothings....my God, there were mothers with their TINY babies (and 8 other children, of course :eyes:) out marching on early February mornings, when the temp was MAYBE 15 degrees...5-6 yr olds carrying signs with aborted fetuses screaming "Baby Killers!!" at the clients who (FAR more often than not) were just coming in for condoms or a refill of their birth control...:grr:

I take GREAT joy in seeing their precious leader humiliated (in HIS eyes, not mine). I certainly hope he doesn't go and do anything silly... (like change his name, move far far away, and never be heard from again...or worse...)

This is sweet. :D

19. They're so pathetic, these wackjobs

Sure sounds like some exemplary 'Christian' household Mr. Terry has there if he thinks his son will find some amusing hypocrisy to expose him for every time he comes to visit.

And I'm impressed- it seems like straightforward Divine Retribution that one right wing nut case after another turns out to have divorces, gay kids, pedophilia, and/or mistresses that they have racked up abortions with. Funny how much God talks with them but never seems to mention this pattern....

Yee ha Christian Nation.
