What will it take...
...to end this? Honestly!? WHY will it take a draft for a majority of this country to speak up and speak out against this!? As a veteran, I can honestly with deepest regret and sadness say that I am ashamed...

1. Selfish.Ending the draft was the worse thing to happen to the peace

movement and the left in general. Nixon knew what he was doing and it was brilliant. There was a marked decline of interest in left leaning politics and the peace movement among young people after Nixon ended the draft. (It was already in decline before the end of the war.)

2. part of the problem Earth is no coverage
the "war news" rates 2.25 minutes on the local evening news so if you went to the can you'd miss it.

Here in Phoenix on the NBS affliate it was the 3rd story. First was a cop accused of child abuse, 2nd was about the weather (it rained)

Hard to get people riled up if they don't even know anythings happening

5. Hello Earth_ First
I have two teenage sons that we are in daily fear, that we will loose due to this damn war.

We decided to print up pages and pages of simple slogans begging people to be active about this. We started at a Walmart putting them on windshields that didn't go well...We had some bad comments.

I had my kids with me and didn't want to put them through a bunch of crap from strangers.

So we decided we would act covertly... We got out over 300 in our first day. Not a huge mass but it is a start for us. We hit launder mats, librarys, gas station bathrooms, restraunt bathrooms, 2 Hospitals- Many Lobbies!

Then we ran out... But tomorrow is another day.. and we will do it again!
