BBV: Web site targets San Joaquin County registrar for replacement

County Registrar of Voters Deborah Hench just made the top 10 list -- for replacement.

But Hench said she isn't worried, and is actually honored to be in such good company.

Hench, along with nine other county registrars of voters in California, has been listed on www.blackboxvoting.org as a registrar who has to be replaced.

Hench made the list because she refused to comply with the secretary of state's directive to implement "security measures" for voting, Web site founder Bev Williams, 52, said.

Other registrars on the list include Mischelle Townsend of Riverside County, Jesse Durazo of Santa Clara County, Sally McPherson of San Diego County, Ann Barnett of Kern County and Ann Reed of Shasta County.

There is redemption for Hench, Williams said.

"All she has to do is follow some simple, yet very important, security procedures."
