The FCC isn't finished with Howard Stern
Now that Stern has been fired from Clear Channel, the FCC has issued Infinity, the group that carries Stern now, a letter inquiring if they carried the broadcast in question.

The Smoking Gun has a transcript of the broadcast in question: http://thesmokinggun.com/archive/0408043fcc1.html

I found out about this from listening to The Schnitt Show.

Sometimes, in spite of themselves, these buffoons do dish up usable information.

1. I thought this was going to die down, but I see it isn't..
It's time to see if Stern's fans really can make a difference. Are they still as rabid as they once were, or are all American's just too docile and apathetic to care?

Should Stern be silenced, after a week, would anyone care?

I don't mean this to sound like I don't like him - I used to listen to him all the time and I'm pretty mortified at how the corporate media is trying to stiffle him. I'm just wondering have we as a people passed the point of caring anymore.

4. The idiots are proving...
...once again that they are basically stupid. If they run Stern off the air that will be the nail in the coffin for Bush*'s re-election, not that he has all that much chance anyway.

Stern fans will NOT forget, and local affiliates, like ours, are already running spots in support of him.

Pukes are tripping on their own dingus again. :)

5. Stern has had stuff like that on his show forever
This was no different, and certainly no more liable to the label "indecent," than tons of stuff that has been on his show regularly throughout his years on the air. Nothing to raise a red flag. Nothing off the charts. And all of a sudden the FCC feels compelled to come down on him? Just when he happened to start criticizing bush*. This is just too obvious.

When I just read the transcript, I thought it was funny and interesting. That sounds like an interesting product, and it's not that far off from products that get discussed on all kinds of shows. I would have liked to know more about it, but they didn't even talk about its properties in detail because of the ridiculous decency standards that are being pushed by the current government.

7. But...
.... only the stupid are buying it.

Stern got canned because he dared to criticize Bush*.

They think they will run him off the air and the problem will be solved. They will find out just how wrong they are come November :)

8. Even a $1-2M fine is a drop in the bucket for Infinity
Howard practically built Infinity, and he is the main cash cow. Karmazin owes his existence to Stern. Even a huge fine of a million plus is just a cost of doing business.

Howard is going nowhere. Bet on it.
