bush* Iraq-nam photos for Friday April 8th....
for a whole year now, I keep thinking that bush* war cannot get any worse...and then, each day, it gets worse...bush* violence is horrendous...as the Pope told bush* last before the war: "you attack Iraq, and YOU GO WITHOUT GOD"...

A truck burns after insurgents targeted a convoy that they said was ferrying supplies between U.S. bases in the Baghdad suburb of Abu Ghraib April 8, 2004.

U.S. troops fought Sunni and Shi'ite rebels in Falluja and Kerbala on Thursday as hospital officials reported hundreds of casualties in the heaviest fighting since Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s fall a year ago. Polish and Bulgarian troops battled Shi'ite militiamen in the Iraqi shrine city of Kerbala on Thursday as U.S.-led forces struggled to quell the worst violence since Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s fall a year ago. A video image from Al Jazeera television aired on April 8, 2004 shows two of the three Japanese citizens taken hostage in Iraq (news - web sites). Militants seized a number of foreign nationals as hostages in Iraq on Thursday, threatening to burn alive the three Japanese unless their country withdrew its troops. Seven South Koreans, seized while doing missionary work on Thursday, were later freed unharmed, Seoul's foreign ministry said. (Reuters)

1. Very sobering photos, indeed
Hey Amen1234 -- I can't say thanks for posting these but it's a necessary task. I've become convinced that there should be a new classification of mental "illness" -- GBA Depression. (GBA standing for George Bush's America.) This is a normal state of mind that periodically afflicts sentient human beings living in GBA. It will pass but it will also inevitably return. Today, I feel myself beginning to slide back into one of those periodic slumps.

Notwithstanding that, I will gather my "HONK FOR PEACE" and "PEACE IS PATRIOTIC" signs and be out on the corner of 3rd and Grand this afternoon, in the lightly falling snow, to STAND UP FOR PEACE!

5. remember, when we fought for PEACE during the Vietnam war...

PEACE finally came, and with PEACE, came a real breathe of fresh air....America WOKE UP, and old attitudes, old stinky stuff suddenly went away...then there was a LONG LONG time of peace, and NEW environmental regulations, women rights, civil rights, caring for America's poor, education....everything changed for the better....

now, too many people, especially those who came in AFTER the Vietnam conflicts, entered into a world that WE built.... a world of peace, a world that moved toward more women and people of color as elected officials, a world that accepted people of different lifestyles, a world of cleaner water/air/soils...and we can get that back again...

some people did not pay attention, and we slipped back to the ugly crap from a previous era...

but we are once again, fighting for PEACE...the pendulum is shifting...and IMO, this bush* disaster is awakening good people in America once more...and if we keep on fighting for PEACE...we WILL usher in a NEW era once again...a better era...a time of PEACE, with justice for all, and tolerance of everyone, where once again, science is used for bettering OUR world and not for weapons and war...a new time for the world....the rumblings are there, PEACE is on her way, and because YOU work hard for PEACE, she is here with us now......and if you listen....you can hear her breathing near you.....

3. like Vietnam, part of stopping the war is to SEE the carnage...

and all Americans need to SEE the madness created by bush* and his minions....THAT will help stop the war....

there has been way too much effort made to 'sanitize' what the average American SEES....show everything....stop bush*'s WAR...bring OUR troops home NOW !!!

6. The 4th picture is the most telling of them all
After seeing that there is no possible way I could say that this uprising is JUST a bunch of militants. That convoy didn't look like that to me.
