My wife just held up the DC Post 'Help wanted' ads and said....
"Look at this. 14 pages. 2 pages for Tech, 2 for Health Care, the rest for everything else."

The Business section is 18 pages. Metro Section is 12.

Given who is occupying the house at the end of 16th Street, Why does this not surprise me?

1. Two Pages for Tech
I can tell you almost without looking what's in the two pages for tech jobs. Impossible requirements! Must have 5 years experience in a software that's been in use only 2 years, that sort of thing.

2. two items of interest:
ONE: NPR report (maybe on Marketplace) about real estate, said that DC is one of the ONLY hotspots in the nation, as the government is spending money hand over fist, and developers are still building there, even thought there are quite a few occupancies (cites huge project near WH, which has lots and lots of vacancies)

TWO: my second cousin was here yesterday. says whenever there's been a pug admnin, his worlkoad goes WAY up. he works as an investigator of labor unions; part of some law enforcement agency, and is sweating out the last six or so years of his deal there. HATES bush and pugs, but says that whenever they are in, they REALLY go after the unions, and he never worries about getting laid off.

how ironic is THAT? we talked about how (name the agency, except DOD, justice) that the exact opposite doesn't happpen; indeed, their objective is to GUT most of them.

have an ex who's worked for treasury, and Farmer's Home Admin, who REALLY loathes the pug political appointees; they always politicize the workplace, and almost always work at odds with the mission at hand.

she says Snow is INfinitely worse than ONeal, who was infinitely worse than Rubin.
