"Let them eat lead." -Dubya
'Let Them Eat Lead'
by David Wiggins
http://lewrockwell.com/wiggins/wiggins10.html

I recently received an email from a reliable administration source. This highly reputable source tells me that between campaign fundraisers, watching Major League baseball games, and vacationing at his Texas ranch, his top advisors told President Bush of the Sadr Offensive and the deteriorating situation in Iraq via conference call. On being informed that many poor US foot soldiers were dying or dead, he listened on in silence. Mr. President, what will we do?" he was asked. According to this official, President Bush hesitated for a second, then smirked, "Let them eat lead."

Legend has it, that Marie Antoinette, Queen of France, on being informed that many poor French country people were dying for bread, replied, ‘Then let them eat cake."

But the similarities between George W Bush and Marie Antoinette do not end there. Marie Antoinette was born a princess, the daughter of Maria Teresa, Empress of Austria. Making use of her family connections, she eventually became Queen of France. George W Bush the son of President George Bush Sr. was also born into a politically powerful family. Making use of his family connections, he eventually became President of the United States.

1. If true, what a chump
It's fine for a private, sergeant, or even a company grade officer to say things like this when in battle, but the pResident of the United States shouldn't say macho bullshit stuff like this. He is no Statesman, just a blue blood chickenhawk.

(Of course the base will eat this up)

2. Good ol' George Antoinette...what a class act.
:eyes:

What did Jon Stewart say last night? Something like, "They keep talking about how this is turning into his Vietnam. Well, he should've fought his Vietnam DURING THE VIETNAM WAR."

All these chickenhawks are so tough until you put an M-16 in their hands.

3. Arrogant, smirking cocky so and so.
The words I would like to use would make a sailor blush. This man must be stopped. I can only imagine what four more years of this a-hole would do for America. More people unemployed, a city destroyed by a terrorist attack, the end of democracy????

Has George Bush EVER had to really work a day in his life?

I highly doubt it.

5. This is incredible
That the President of the U.S. is so cavalier about the fate of his own troops surprises even those of us who view Dubya as the face of true evil.

Where's the outrage?

6. 40% of his pResidency on VACATION
233 days on his Texas ranch, 78 visits to Camp David, five visits to Kennebunkport...all or part of 500 days in office at one of his three retreats, or more than 40 percent of his presidency.

from: http://talkingpointsmemo.com

He stole an election and subverted our democracy in order to get the damn job and then only showed up 60% of the time.

19. I DON'T want him there fulltime
I want him and Cheney and the rest of those dangerous assholes to take the next 8 months off, and then slink out of Washington altogether after the election. Better no one there at all than them.

If he TRULY said "let them eat lead" then it should be on every newscast far and wide, and repeated to every family who has kids and husbands and wives in Iraq. We wouldn't need to worry about November.

In Jan 2005 lets get a real administration in office.

If I don't believe a quote from an anonymous source through a writer I'm unfamiliar with, then I must be pro-Bush.

14. i was being overly facetious
bush has a history of saying arrogantly insensitive stuff filled with double entendres and shallow humour.

iraq insurgency:
"bring 'em on"

bush's good luck because of 9-11:
"i hit the trifecta"

after receiving a painting of mlk from his widow:
"i can't wait to hang it."

mimicking karla faye tucker's plea:
"please don't kill me...."

so, i believe it. i really do.

18. I don't see anything wrong with the quote about the MLK painting
If Coretta Scott King gave him a painting of Martin Luther King, and he said, "I can't wait to hang it," what is wrong with that?

17. I'm with you on this one. There can't be more than a handful of people on
the planet who despise Shrub as much as I do, but this one doesn't quite pass the smell test here. But I'd love for it to be true, verified and reported widely...

15. I seriously doubt this is real...
It's like those fake conservative reports of Hillary doing so and so, or Kerry saying so and so.

Bush is a putz, but he is not the kind of person who would say "Let them eat lead".
