Boeing Wichita is up for sale....
http://www.kansas.com/mld/eagle/8391570.htm

Of course Boeing execs have denied this for months and years but here we go. Over 10,000 high paying, mostly union jobs will be history at some time in the future. This will have a A-Bomb effect on the economy of Wichita.

Some other company will most likely buy part of the plant and be a sub-contractor to Boeing but those jobs will be at Wal-Mart wages plus a couple of bucks.

There's just no end to this kind of shit when Republicans run the country. Guess what,at least 66% of all Boeing people most likely voted for the people who are causing this to happen.

1. Heard That

Just mentioned in another thread that Boeing is trying to do the same thing in McAlester, OK. The best paying jobs in the entire area are at Boeing. McAlester is a fairly small town, and the only other thing in it is the state prison.

2. And stuck with Todd Tiahrt, too.
That guy is about as clueless as they come.

3. When Tiahrt ran for re-election two years ago...
He was pumping his chest about jobs created for Wichita. His opponent quickly pointed out that he was counting jobs for those Boeing Tankers for the military that two years later hasn't happened and most likely won't.

The guy is a lacky for Boeing, not surprising since he came from there.

4. I lived in Wichita as a kid and had many friends who's parents worked...
...for Boeing.

Those parents would probably all be in their mid/late 50's now.

Good luck.
