Is this what we have been waiting for?
Seems to me like a line has been crossed, the lapdog media is FINALLY starting to ask tough questions.

Am I too optimistic in getting my hopes up here? Been let down, soooo many times.

Your thoughts appreciated.

1. Looks to me like Carl Levin plans to
carry this through to the end. I hope everyone who's saying he's playing a chess game with them is right. He's on a roll. GO CARL GO!

2. Andrea Mitchell this morning was putting the breaks on any speculation
Even though she kind of broke the Wilson story this Sunday starting the media avalanche (it seems). It was interesting to hear her NOT try to capitalize on breaking the story.

3. I really think so...
a guy at my company today looked at me at lunch (no politics has been discussed since the war) and said "it looks like the media is finally turning, the latest news cycle is incredible!". I think so too, the media really has a different feel to it now, like they're onto another scandal and this is just another way to make money. At least this way is righteous tho:)

4. ABC was pretty tough on Bushy last night
They made it sound like he knowingly lied about the uranium. We will probably never know to what extent he knew it was false. My question is this. Do we let him off the hook when we find proof of a nuclear program? Even if we do, lying like this is not good.

8. LOL
They made it sound like he knowingly lied about the uranium.

Or did they make it sound like he didn't knowingly lied about the uranium. I just love this media ambiguity. They don't report the news any more, as much as imply it.

We will probably never know to what extent he knew it was false.

On the contrary. We know a lot more than you might imagine. It looks like your new to the DU, so I will give you the benefit of the doubt. But we here at the DU knew this was false a full month before the SOTUS because it had already been leaked at that point, and debunked. The CIA said that they debunked the reports the previous March. We know that the documents that this report was based on, were open forgeries. Lousy ones at that too, with each page apparently having a different seal. And ambassador was tapped to investigate the charge, and found them to not be true.

My question is this. Do we let him off the hook when we find proof of a nuclear program? Even if we do, lying like this is not good.

Iraq has no nuclear weapons program. Zero, none, nada, zilch. It's not possible. A nuclear weapons program requires lots of large plants to process the uranium. Plants so specific in nature that they can be seen from space, and require special particle accelerators that you can not hide. And senses these plants to not exist in Iraq, one must be forced to conclude that a nuclear weapons program must there fore, also not exist.

So my question to you is, when will you put Bush "on" the hook?

9. Ahh, me young grasshopper
Sounds like Bush should have known better. If regular folk knew the reports were forged, Bush should have been more careful. Shame on him. How could he have expected to get away with something like this? Why in the hell would he have said soemthing that the CIA debunked? Did they debunk it or just say they couldn't verify it? Iraq did have a nuclear program though. Maybe nothing we could see from space, but somewhere between stuff on paper and large plants you can't hide.

5. The higher Powers are dumping Bush!!
Read fromthewilderness.com Mike Rupert claimes it is over for Bush.
The problem lies in the idea that they will pick a Dem candidate that
will continue the agenda. We have got to secure our elections.

7. Here it is!
7/1/03
BEYOND BUSH
Powers above the White House are deciding that it's time for the Bush gang to go. As a Watergate-style take down is being meticulously put into place, the question is not whether the Bush Administration will be removed before or after the 2004 election. The important questions are whether Bush's successor will address 9/11, Peak Oil, civil liberties, or any of the critical issues. What is being done even now to control the challengers in the Presidential election? A clandestine drama is unfolding and we'll help you understand it. This special free series is a must-read going into 2004.

10. A look into the crystal ball?
I dunno.

The difference now from just a few weeks ago is that it is now possible to ask the question: the media MIGHT really follow this up, might even whip up a frenzy.
