They're not letting the troops come home: again
Listened briefly to one of those retired general with a pointer and a map on the Today Show this morning. He's showing where the fighting is occurring and he named Fallujah and one other small town as the flashpoints.

I don't believe that it's limited to these two areas. There were soldiers being killed daily before Fallujah which brought the death toll to 600.

Beyond that, they have about 1,300 troops there fighting a population of 250,000. And they're not letting them come home again. It was not two weeks ago that I saw Ruinsfeld claim that all of the troops "volunteered" to go to war. Yes, they volunteered for a limited term, but not to have their tours extended twice.

Finally, looking at NBC this evening, they did a story on ROTC students and army/navy recruitment drives at highschools. The lying "reporter" said these highschoolers are eager to sign up. :eyes:

One student said, he's thinking about it but doesn't want to go on a suicide mission. I howled.

I'm done rambling. That is all.

1. Lies recruiters tell
Why do people of color represent 1/3 of all enlisted people, but only 1/8 of all officers?

If military “high-tech” job training is so great, why do only 12% of male recruits and 6% of female recruits ever use their military training in a civilian job?

Why are rapes and other assaults on women an on-going crisis in the military?

What’s the point of participating in the GI Bill when you can actually receive more money by applying for Pell Grants, Stafford Loans, and other sources of financial aid?

Why does the government ask us to “support the troops” while it cuts benefits for Veterans?

Why hasn’t the government come clean about Gulf War Syndrome and the ongoing health problems of veterans, including chronic illnesses and birth defects?

2. What greater honor could there be
than sacrificing your life for Dick Cheney's Halliburton.

again or if we will see him again. The night he left here he walked to his car and was crying as he left. "Im going to go just get it over with" he said.
I hope that wasnt the last time I saw him..but it will be a long time before we see him again if they keep this up.
god help all the families, god help them and for gods sake Impeach Bush.

5. Maria--you're one in a million
because the other 999,999 of the "families" and the "boys" just keep mouthing the goddamn "I 100% support Preseeedent Boosh" shit. If they would wake up and speak up, then maybe the rest of the country would listen. But then again, they wouldn't because they don't care 'cause it's a piece of cake to send someone else's kid, wave a flag, hate people in the name of Christianity, be greedy, go about your business of screwing your neighbor before the neighbor screws you, and get all pumped up about killing more or them scum Aaaarabs every night. We need a draft...and if they re-elect Bush, I pray to God they get one. These dumb bastards deserve it.

4. Troops volunteered to defend America, not fight a chosen war
for the Empire and its huge corporate interests.
