This country deserves Bush
This country has always been and will always be a wasteland full of red necks and cowboys. I can't believe how not only politicians but the citizens of this country hoard all the money possible while leaving other citizens to die in the streets. I have noticed this more now than ever most likely because of the terrible recession. I was driving through the toy district and skid row in LA and was just in utter amazement asking myself why politicians don't help these people (the same people that Reagan let out of the mental institutions and left them to wonder aimlessly in the unforgiving streets.) It's not only the politicians. I can't stand to see stupid yuppy moms driving their ridiculously expensive suvs while there are people living in true hell. Why doesn't one of the dem candidates put these forgotten souls in their agenda. Shouldn't somebody care? The downtown streets are where the real world is and where the government needs to fight a mansized war.

1. I'm in favor of splitting the country.
Let the freaking Red Zone have their own country with George W. Bush as Head Retard.

They'll miss the subsidies they get from the Blue Zone right away, that's for sure.

We're better off without them.

And we can have Paul Krugman for president.

8. Well said...
...also, note that the LA-to-Seattle area is not monolithic (there should be a cut either around the CA/OR border or in the vicinity of Santa Barbara), nor is the Georgia-to-Idaho area. The US can't be broken into red and blue, but can and should be split into about 10 regional nations, which will be either mostly blue or mostly red.

3. We Are an Evil, Evil People
As a society we've become truely evil. We care only about ourselves. The holy trinity of conservatism, Me, Myself, and I, has finally triumphed.

6. The poor will find no help at all if the Dem party continues...
...to go to the RIGHT.

- Back in the 70s...I joined Jefferson's/Jackson's party of the people. But now too many Dems have joined the GOPers in putting the people last.

11. I see your point, but...
I personally think that we fooled ourselves into thinking that such a piece of grabage could never be elected. In addition, we then went on the rampage and ate our own candidate, ostensibly because he did not 'fight' for the recount issue as we thought he should. Once the Bushies got rolling with their mercenaries, the battle, and the electoral war were all but history (and Gore knew it). I don't blame Gore one bit for not running again, we deserted him.

12. I agree that many of us abandoned Gore.
I don't blame Gore for not wanting to run in 2004. He took a lot of undeserved shit and figured he would get more of the same. I do believe Bush is beatable in 2004 and I believe we have a number of Dem candidates who can beat him.

14. I agree...
My family and I went to see a ballgame last weekend in Baltimore and after leaving the park, where I'm sure most of the people there had spent at least $200, everyone just passed right by a man with a sign and a cup without giving him anything. I mean how heartless can you be? We were only at the game because someone gave us the tickets, otherwise we would have never been able to afford such a luxury with my husband being out of work for the past year. However, I at least had a dollar to give the man.

15. No. This is what happens when too much power is given to too few people
Our "news" media won't report on this conglomeration of power, because our "news" media is owned and operated by the same folks who benefit from that conglomeration of power.

Remember what happened at the turn of the century when Republicans took over our government: the Great Depression and the Nazis took over Germany.

Edited on Wed Aug-06-03 11:15 PM by indigo32
why are we any better or worse as a people than any other? Yes things suck right now... and we sure do seem greedy and foolish. But frankly I'm getting a little tired of listening to how terrible we are. We're just people. We're good and bad, sometimes we let our better natures be misled by fear and greed. Other people don't?

My democratic G-ma put it well tonite.

"I used to care, but at my age I just worry about my family and my job, and nobody seems to care about other people anymore."

If this country continues its impirical strategy anymore radically than they are now, I'll be up north laughing as American fascists find out the lesson that history tells anyone with half a brain: EMPIRES DONT WORK!
