Whenever a telemarketer calls, I always say that my husband and I have decided not to make any financial moves till Bush is out of office and there is economic stability. In the past 24 hours, the last three who called said

"Yeah, I know what you mean."

"You sound just like my mother."

"I've been hearing that alot lately."

We don't get any telemarketing calls, I think because we have an unlisted number, & I've been very careful to send back the opt-out forms that we got from credit card companies, etc. But now that you've mentioned this, I'll be on the lookout for situations in which I can use your statement.:-)

I especially love when the investment broker firms call...I laugh...then go into my anti-Bush rant and remind them that their companies give millions to the GOP and Bush - I can't possibly willingly support corporations who buy republican politicians.

9. I got a call from the DNC the other night and the

telemarketer started in with her spiel about "*, blah, blah". I stopped her after three words and said "You don't need to convince me." She laughed and said she'd heard that a lot lately, too.

12. A NYT telemarketer called me last night

and wanted to sell me the paper. I let her go on for awhile and then said "When I see Impeach Bush headline on the front page I'll be ready to sign up." She laughed and laughed. I'm sure she told some co-workers about it. It made my day!
