Shame on the news anchors for CNN, MSNBC, FOX, et al
I know you will say they can only cover what the stations tell them they can cover. But I still say it is to their shame that they are able to mouth the words Kobe Bryant, Laci Peterson, Arnold whats his face, etc. all day long, all night long.

They must have consciences and souls. They and their networks dishonor our military who are giving their lives in a hot desert country, with their water rations cut back.

They dishonor them by not showing their bodies arriving in the US, and they deprive their families of that moment in time. They should at least cover the fact of the huge numbers in the Walter Reed hospital, so many they are now in nearby hotels and motels. They deserve to be given recognition.

If we can read about that in the print press, then they can cover it as well.

They should take more pride in their work than that.

1. They are media stars not journalists.
There are very few TV news people who are journalists.

2. I DON"T Watch the Cable "News" Channels...
I prefer NBC, ABC, and Rather on CBS. More so I prefer the BBC and CBC over all of them!

5. I don't watch cable news either.
I like Tom Brokaw but feel NBC is not doing their job.
I much prefer ABC and CBS. Peter Jennings still brings a little of his Canadian perspective and Dan still to walk tall in his boots. I hope he still has the guts to fight for a story.

11. That is so horrible. To have to hear it from Australia.
I am just plain ashamed of our media. I really am.

SNIP...."United States military casualties in Iraq are running at more than twice the number most Americans have been led to believe they are. The public is largely unaware of a high number of accidents, suicides and other non-combat deaths.

Since May 1, when President George Bush called an end to combat operations, 52 of his troops have been killed by hostile fire, according to Pentagon figures.

But the total of deaths from all causes is much higher at 112.

The other unreported cost of the war for the United States is the number of wounded - 827.

But unofficial figures put the total in the thousands. Many of the wounded have lost limbs......."

9. it was on Mike Malloy the other night
The gov't only claims 800+ troops injured, but the helicopter pilot, that flew them, said it was more like 4,000 troops. I think he also mentioned that there are hospital wings overflowing with troops.
I don't have a link sorry

6. The media circus

There was a picture in the paper today, all the news trucks at the Kobe thing. Hell look at all the Arnold threads here. Starstruck cocksucking

ON EDIT: For the everlasting sake of pure disgust, people in this forum are talking about Arnold's unit in the Paula Zahn thread. My original statement stands.

12. I live in Colorado, and I'm almost tempted to drive all the way
to Eagle with some Dean signs to wave in the background of the camera shots!

But they'd edit it out or something. Maybe I should order a Dean shirt and just amble around as part of the background of the video shot.

Still, the thought has crossed my mind. It would be funny.

Every time that crap comes on I turn the television off--although I don't watch much news anymore anyway.

13. Most television news will do anything for money.
It has turned into National Enquirer or Court TV to attract what it perceives of as a bigger market. Then it will sell ads for a higher price.

It's ridiculous.

14. There is peace . . . without television!
It can be done, and we're convinced that it's done wonders for our collective blood pressure - PARTICULARLY when it comes to what passes for television "journalism" these days.

(Of course, the first thing I do whenever I go down to visit my parents is to grab the remote, but that's different. At least, I think that's different)
