"Tucker Carlson on why he doesn't like Karen Hughes" Salon
and other stuff, from an interview, ca. last September, made relevant again by the nauseating re-emergence of the Uberbutch Bush Marionette

SALON: What about your profile of George W. Bush in Talk in 1999? That had to be the most damaging profile of him yet written -- swearing like a truck driver, making fun of Karla Faye Tucker's death penalty appeals, mimicking her saying, "Don't kill me!" -- because of its high profile, and because of your access to him. Did that bring you flak from conservatives?

..........

TC: It {{response from pugs}} was very, very hostile. The reaction was: You betrayed us. Well, I was never there as a partisan to begin with.

Then I heard that Karen Hughes accused me of lying. And so I called Karen and asked her why she was saying this, and she had this almost Orwellian rap that she laid on me about how things she'd heard -- that I watched her hear -- she in fact had never heard, and she'd never heard Bush use profanity ever. It was insane.

I've obviously been lied to a lot by campaign operatives, but the striking thing about the way she lied was she knew I knew she was lying, and she did it anyway. There is no word in English that captures that. It almost crosses over from bravado into mental illness.

They get carried away, consultants do, in the heat of the campaign, they're really invested in this. A lot of times they really like the candidate. That's all conventional. But on some level, you think, there's a hint of recognition that there is reality -- even if they don't recognize reality exists -- there is an objective truth. With Karen you didn't get that sense at all. A lot of people like her. A lot of people I know like her. I'm not one of them.

http://www.salon.com/books/feature/2003/09/13/carlson/

and what's the point of this?

I watched the first half of MTP today, and after becoming completely convinced by those two feckless buffoons from the 911 commission that it will soon be renamed the Neo-Warren commission, I didn't have the stomach for Hughes' appearance

that said, I wonder how she was treated by fatpigboy, especially since she's trying to claim that her bookshill appearances have nothing to do with politics

right, you insane, lying POS. WHO ON EARTH would be interested in ONE word you have to say, if you weren't one of the two chief organ grinders for the monkey squatter befouling our house?

did anybody see that train wreck? I haven't found one mention of it here today

Bingo - you know I was watching her the other day, on a morning interview show. I was looking at her eyes, there was a manic intensity to them...and, well...they scared the daylights out me. I could see all that she was capable of...

3. Liars
The whole phenomena of people who look you in the eye while they lie to you, knowing all the while that you are ware of their duplicity is the weirdest thing about politics. There are a lot more people out there other than Karen Hughes who practice that. In fact, I can't think of a single presidential press spokesperson who hasn't done this on a daily basis.

What surprises me are the people who don't even blink an eye at this practice (e.g., most Americans).

7. i have worked with people who can look you straight in the eye and lie
like a dog. Usually they have some sort of tell, voice goes
up or blinking or something. I haven't watched K. Hughes because I just can't stomach her. Does she have any tells or is she
a very accomplished liar?

4. The question is...

Will Hughes be able to cow the press whores like she did in 2000? Or, after a steady diet of Ari and McClellan, have the media whores had enough bitch-slapping and contempt from the misAdministration?

9. Isn't it great?
For awhile I was afraid that they would take that Reagan 11th commandment to heart; "Thou shalt not speak ill of fellow republicans." Glad they forgot that one.

15. tucker isn't nearly the worst
he flat out admitted that Iraq is nowhere near being able to govern themselves by 6/30. I'm sure Karen Huges, Ann Coulter, Rush & Hannity will all be painting us a rosy picture.

13. pundit pap on Hughes/timmy fatprick
Timmy Russert lets Karen Hughes spin and shill her new book

Following the lukewarm interview with the 9/11 commission's two top dogs, we had to rush for the medicine cabinet for a double dose of compazine when we heard Tim welcome former White House political moll and Mistress of the Big Lie Karen Hughes to Meet the Press.

Tim started by blasting the reluctance of the Bushies to cooperate with the 9/11 commission, and Hughes did what comes most naturally to her: lying while making sure to spin like a dervish on methamphetamine. We heard the expected talking points:
-- Smirk wants to cooperate!
-- We need to protect out intelligence operatives...

...and then Hughes had the unbridled arrogance to cite the exposure of Valerie Plame, a former CIA superspy whose cover was blown when someone in the White House leaked her name to a number of journos, including the Nattering Nosferatu of Neoconservativism, Robert Novak.

Someone should have reminded hapless Hughes that there's a big difference between taking care to protect the identities of CIA agents and assets during the process of a blue-ribbon commission investigation and outing an agent because said agent's husband dared tell the embarrassing truth about Hughes's boss, that imbecile George.

her wardrobe advisor. Her outfit on MTP was one of the most butt ugly outftis ever to grace the tube since Pickles shot her couch and made a suit out of it. Ugh.
