Poll question: Occupying Iraq is making it more dangerous for us here in America
As the president of Egypt said last year. You now have one bin Laden. Invade Iraq and you will have a hundred bin Ladens. I agree with the Egyptian president.

2. not just occupying Iraq
Edited on Sun Apr-04-04 02:31 PM by welshTerrier2
but invading it too ...

most of us understood this before the U.S. invaded ... of course we are less safe now ...

bush has burned every bridge we had with the rest of the world ... we have no allies; we have no friends and we've taught most of the Islamic world to hate us ...

a new administration can begin the healing process but it will take generations to undue the damage bush has done ...

3. There is an argument
Saddam didn't have weapons of Mass distruction or at least not a lot of them, but it's also clear that he wanted them. I don't know how seriously he wanted them, of course.

So Saddam was a potential threat down the road; that doesn't justify our invasion; but has to be factored into the equation of whether we are in the long run safer with Saddam out of power.

Still even factoring that in, the other factors are probably greater, meaning we probably aren't that much safer if safer at all.
